Single-crystal rhombohedral boron nitride wafers for integrated sliding ferroelectric memory
Abstract Two-dimensional rhombohedral boron nitride (rBN) has emerged as a promising sliding ferroelectric material for high-density, fast-speed and non-volatile memories. However, the batch production of ferroelectric rBN wafers has remained a critical challenge due to the thermodynamic instability of the rhombohedral phase and the inherent difficulties in maintaining consistent growth kinetics.
Dietary Inulin Alleviates NAFLD Through Regulating the Gut Microbiota and Metabolic Signaling Pathways
ABSTRACT Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become a widespread chronic liver disease worldwide, with its incidence significantly increasing in high-risk populations, imposing a heavy burden on global health. Dysbiosis of the gut microbiota is a key factor driving the onset and progression of this disease.

Physics-informed directional decoding of the structure-property relationship in porous metamaterials
Abstract Predicting the full-range stress–strain behavior of architected elastomers is challenging due to limited data and complex deformation mechanisms. We propose a physics-informed multimodal machine learning framework that embeds domain knowledge at both the data and model levels. At the data level, the Gibson–Ashby law guides targeted augmentation, and energy absorption efficiency segments the curves into distinct stages.

Denoising-Assisted Rapid Multiphoton Imaging for Analysing Traumatic Penumbra Microenvironment in Rat Brain
1 Introduction Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major global health problem with high morbidity and mortality [1]. External mechanical forces to the head trigger primary damage, followed by pathological cascades that form secondary injury regions, known as the traumatic penumbra (TP) [2]. The TP is dynamic, potentially reversible, and highly sensitive to timely intervention.

Fundraising for foster kids: KVC Missouri hosts HeroCon
KVC Missouri hosted HeroCon, a miniature comic-con and fundraiser event, on Saturday at Machens Toyota. This was the second year that KVC Missouri, a children’s mental health and family services provider, has hosted HeroCon. The idea for the event formed last year when Joe Pallikkathayil and Sam Warfel talked about how there isn’t a comic-con in Columbia.

Grateful Columbia surgeon gives kids a way to see themselves as doctors
Abdoulie Njai grew up in Gambia hearing about the way serious injuries in his family were treated — not in hospitals or clinics, but with sticks, rods and the customs of traditional healers. “There was no orthopedic surgeon in the country,” he said. Preoperative Metabolic Predictors of Granulation Subtypes in Somatotroph Tumors: A Multicenter Retrospective Cohort Study
1 Introduction Pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETs) are common tumors in the sellar region and are typically classified as functioning and nonfunctioning tumors based on hormone secretion [1]. Somatotroph tumors, a subtype of functioning PitNETs, are the leading cause of acromegaly in adults and gigantism in children [1, 2].

The Complete Chloroplast Genome of Synotis solidaginea and Phylogenetic Analysis
1 Introduction Synotis is a genus of perennial herbs, shrubby herbs, or subshrubs belonging to the tribe Senecioneae of the Asteraceae family. The leaves of Synotis are typically simple, undivided, and range from broadly ovate-cordate to narrowly oblong-lanceolate. The genus comprises approximately 60 species. In China, all species except Synotis atractylifolia (distributed in the Helan Mountains of Ningxia) are confined to the Himalayan region.
Fine-tuning of ZIF-67 pore sizes via ligand exchange: optimal active site interactions for iodine capture
Fine-tuning of ZIF-67 pore sizes via ligand exchange: optimal active site interactions for iodine capture Radioactive iodine isotopes such as 129I and 131I exhibit high volatility and a tendency to bioaccumulate in marine organisms, ultimately affecting human health through the food chain. Addressing the environmental challenges posed by persistent and mobile radioactive iodine species, this study develops a cost-effective adsorbent through strategic ligand engineering.

A Preliminary Study of Effect of Melatonin on Inflammation and Hypoxia‐Related Factors in a Mouse Model of Elastase‐Induced Intracranial Aneurysm
1 Introduction Intracranial aneurysms (IAs) are present as pathologic dilatation of the walls of intracranial arteries, with a prevalence of 3% in the adult population (Etminan and Rinkel 2016). Although most patients with IA are asymptomatic, ruptured IAs can cause subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) with a high mortality rate (Claassen and Park 2022). The pathogenesis of IA involves multiple complex factors including hemodynamics, inflammation, and hypoxia (X. Wang et al. 2023).

CETP inhibition enhances monocyte activation and bacterial clearance and reduces streptococcus pneumonia–associated mortality in mice
Abstract Sepsis is a leading cause of mortality worldwide, and pneumonia is the most common cause of sepsis in humans. Low levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels are associated with an increased risk of death from sepsis, and increasing levels of HDL-C by inhibition of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) decreases mortality from intraabdominal polymicrobial sepsis in APOE*3-Leiden.CETP mice.
