Multi-omic analysis of androgen-deprived human testes reveals Sertoli cell regulation and niche reprogramming
Abstract Testis development and male fertility depend on androgens, yet the mechanisms underlying their regulation of adult human testicular function remain poorly defined due to ethical and technical constraints. To address this, we leverage androgen-deprived adult human testes as a spontaneous model and construct a comprehensive multi-omics atlas integrating single-nucleus RNA sequencing, single-cell ATAC-seq, and spatial transcriptomics.
Characterization of accumulated space charge and charge-caused AC gas discharge characteristics in enclosed air spaces with novel electrostatic induction method
Abstract Space charges affect the discharge process in an enclosed space of an electrical device. Due to the limitations of the measurement technique, it is difficult to study charge accumulation and its effect on discharges. In this paper, a characterization of the space charges and the charge-caused discharge characteristics via electrostatic induction is proposed.
Recent advances in hydrogels loaded with plant-derived pure small molecules intervening in immune pathways to accelerate diabetic ulcer healing
Abstract In the field of diabetic ulcer treatment, plant-derived pure small molecular compounds loaded in hydrogels have shown significant potential value and importance. However, existing literature on hydrogel dressings for the treatment of diabetic ulcers, although achieving certain therapeutic effects, primarily presents results related to anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, without explaining the underlying immune pathway mechanisms for achieving such effects.
Postprandial attenuation of gastric slow waves in anxiety–depression, with and without functional dyspepsia: associations with heart rate variability and sleep quality
Abstract Background and aims: Functional dyspepsia (FD) commonly coexists with anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances. However, it remains unclear whether the burden of psychological symptoms and sleep disturbances is associated with autonomic regulation and meal-induced gastric myoelectrical responses, particularly in individuals without overt FD.
Single-cell immunoprofiling reveals a dysfunctional-like immune microenvironment and malignant phenotype in aging penile squamous cell carcinoma.
Penile squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) can affect men of any age, but we know little about the differences between non-old and old patients with PSCC, which severely limits the precise diagnosis and treatment of PSCC. We collected 2 non-old and 3 old PSCC samples and performed single-cell RNA sequencing and single-cell TCR-Seq analysis. All samples were subjected to UMAP clustering, and subcluster analyses were carried out on tumor cells, T cells, and myeloid cells.
Template-assisted [6+6] cycloaddition for the construction of photothermally responsive functional materials
Abstract High-order cycloaddition offers a direct and powerful strategy for constructing medium-sized architectures, but it is often limited by low yields and poor stereoselectivity. Here, we report a template- assisted [6+6] photodimerization reaction, which is achieved via the self-assembly of a two-dimensional (2D) coordination polymer (CP) CP1. The coordination template precisely organizes the reactants.

1 Introduction Glaucoma is a heterogeneous group of irreversible vision loss, primarily characterized by the degeneration of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) and morbid changes in the optic nerve head [1]. It impacts more than 70 million people globally, with approximately 10% bilateral blindness. This number is estimated to exceed 11.1 million by 2040, detrimentally impacting qualities of lives of large number of people worldwide [2].
The risk of osteoporosis in COPD: An analysis of sex differences and mediating effects based on NHANES - npj Primary Care Respiratory Medicine
Abstract Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and osteoporosis are significant public health concerns, often co-occurring due to shared risk factors such as ageing, smoking, and systemic inflammation, as well as treatment-related factors such as long-term glucocorticoid use. However, large-scale studies exploring these associations, their sex-specific effects, and mediating factors remain limited. A total of 8,274 participants aged ≥50 years from NHANES cycles 2005–2018 were included.

Droplet surface spontaneous oxidation as a dominant formation pathway of organosulfates in the marine atmosphere - Nature Communications
Abstract Organosulfates (OSs) have been widely detected in marine aerosols and have various potential formation pathways in the atmosphere. However, the key formation mechanism of OSs in the marine environment remains unclear. Here, by combining field measurements, laboratory experiments, and model calculations, we suggest that the surface spontaneous oxidation of sea spray aerosol (SSA) particles produces OSs rapidly and is the dominant formation pathway of OSs in the marine atmosphere.

Single‐cell multiome reveals root hair‐specific responses to salt stress
Introduction Immobile plants are naturally exposed to diverse biotic and abiotic stresses that often exert deleterious influences on their growth (Zhu, 2016; Zhang et al., 2022). Climate changes, along with environmental pollution and irrational fertilization, have increased saline-alkalization and reduced global cultivatable lands. Saline-alkali soil impedes plant root growth and hinders leaf photosynthesis, leading to severe wilting, yellowing, or even mortality (Zhao et al., 2020).

The mediating role of air pollution in the relationship between greenspace and cardiorespiratory admissions in Brazil
Urban greenspaces, such as parks and forests, play a critical role in enhancing the environmental quality of urban areas (Brucker, 2024; W. Yu et al., 2023). These areas not only provide aesthetic and recreational benefits but also contribute significantly to improving air quality (Edeigba et al., 2024; Venter et al., 2024a). Green spaces typically have lower air pollution levels due to the absence of major emission sources.
Effects of Lamina-Chromatin Attachment on Super Long-Range Chromatin Interactions
Abstract The interactions between chromatin and lamin proteins localized on the nuclear envelope play a crucial role in the three-dimensional (3D) organization of the genome. This study investigates the influence of lamin associated domains (LADs) on genome organization at the chromosome level using 3D polymer models of mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) and embryonic stem cells (mESCs).
Roles of Cro2 and CI2 binding to OR operators in controlling lysogeny stability during prophage induction
Abstract The lysogeny-lysis switch in bacteriophage lambda serves as a model for understanding cell fate decisions. The molecular network controlling this switch has been explored through extensive experimental and computational studies. Yet, the specific role of protein-DNA interactions, like the binding of CI2 and Cro2 proteins to operator sites, in regulating lysogeny stability during prophage induction remains less understood.

LncRNA sequencing reveals an essential role for the lncRNA-mediated ceRNA network in penile squamous cell carcinoma - Genes & Immunity
Abstract Penile squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) is becoming increasingly common and posing a severe threat to men’s health, particularly in developing countries. The function of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in PSCC progression remains mysterious. Therefore, we explored the significance of lncRNAs in the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network in PSCC tumor progression. The 5 healthy and 6 tumor tissue samples were subjected to lncRNA sequencing.
Tim-3 promotes viral infection by suppressing USP25-TRAF3-IRF7 signaling pathway
Abstract Tim-3, an immune checkpoint inhibitor, plays key roles in maintaining immune homeostasis and is involved in viral evasion. However, the precise role of Tim-3 in viral infection remains to be determined. USP25 is one of the deubiquitinating enzymes that serves to initiate antiviral immunity by deubiquitinating TRAF3 and triggering the anti-viral signaling pathway.

Abstract Motivation: Techniques such as high-throughput chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C) have provided a wealth of information on the organization of the nucleus, and genome architecture is important for understanding expression regulation. Additionally, Genome-wide association studies (GWASs) have uncovered thousands of loci related to complex traits. However, the functional roles of many located in non-coding regions like eQTLs are unclear.
A New Approach for Discovering Functional Links Connecting Non-Coding Regulatory Variants to Gene Targets
Abstract Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have linked thousands of genetic variants to various complex traits or diseases. However, most identified variants have weak individual effects, are correlated with nearby polymorphisms due to linkage disequilibrium (LD), and are located in non-coding cis-regulatory elements (CREs). These characteristics complicate the assessment of the direct impact of each variant on tissue specific gene expression and phenotype.
