Disrupted PQBP1-HNRNPU-LINE-1 axis underlies aberrant neurodevelopment in renpenning syndrome
|
Abstract Mutations in RNA splicing factor PQBP1 cause Renpenning syndrome (RS), yet whether LINE-1 (L1) contributes to RS pathogenesis remains unclear. Here, we generated human forebrain organoids model carrying a novel patient-derived PQBP1 variant (c.28 C > G; p.R10G), and observed impaired neurogenesis in RS organoids.

Carbon Footprint Assessment of Lubricant Products: A Case Study in Taiwan
Submitted: 17 September 2026 Posted: 17 September 2026 You are already at the latest version Lubricants are essential for machinery, yet their production contributes significantly to climate change. Quantifying their carbon footprint (CF) is necessary to identify emission hotspots and to design effective decarbonization measures across the industry value chain.
Targeting FEN1 disrupts EIF4A3-mediated MUC1-C autoregulation: a novel strategy to suppress lung adenocarcinoma progression
Abstract Flap endonuclease 1 (FEN1), a key enzyme in DNA metabolism, exhibits oncogenic properties in various cancers. However, its functional role and underlying mechanisms in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) progression and tumor immunity remain poorly defined. Here, we demonstrate that FEN1 is significantly upregulated in LUAD tissues and serves as an independent prognostic factor for poor survival.
Global current systems in the magnetosphere of Mercury
Abstract The global current systems of a planet represent electrodynamic interactions between its different parts, and between its magnetosphere and the ambient solar wind. Although some local currents of Mercury’s magnetosphere have already been revealed by previous observational studies, the global picture of current systems in Mercury’s magnetosphere remains unknown.
Cryoablation combined with immunotherapy: new strategies and progress in the treatment of tumors
Abstract In recent years, continuous advances in interventional therapies for pulmonary diseases have made minimally invasive treatment an important focus of this field because of its limited trauma, rapid recovery, and reliable efficacy. As a representative minimally invasive modality, cryoablation kills tumor cells mainly through cold-induced cellular injury, vascular injury, and immune modulation.

High-precision wavefront reconstruction from a single-shot interferogram using a physics-driven hybrid feature calibration network
Interferometric wavefront reconstruction is important for applications such as precision optical metrology. Traditional methods are hindered by challenges such as inaccurate phase extraction from a single-shot measurement and error accumulation in multi-frame approaches, while reported deep learning methods often lack physical constraints and introduce additional errors during the phase unwrapping process.
Direct generation of megawatt-peak-power sub-100-fs vector vortex beams from a Mamyshev fiber oscillator
We demonstrate a few-mode Yb-doped fiber Mamyshev oscillator that directly generates megawatt-level peak power femtosecond vector vortex beams. Mode selection is achieved via engineered mode- and polarization-dependent intracavity losses, enabling stable operation in the targeted spatial mode. The oscillator delivers radially and azimuthally polarized pulses with ~4.86 W average power and ~260 nJ pulse energy, externally compressed to 65 fs, corresponding to a ~2.9 MW peak power.
Macrophage-derived MBL restrains coronavirus-induced pulmonary inflammation by modulating metabolic regulator PKM2-mediated NLRP3 activation
Abstract The precise mechanisms governing innate immune response to coronaviruses remain elusive. Our study reveals that mannose-binding lectin (MBL), a key pattern recognition molecule, exhibits significant upregulation in PBMCs from COVID-19 patients, with expression levels positively correlating with clinical severity.
From chemical composition to clinical application: the value of bile-based traditional Chinese medicines in the treatment of liver diseases
Abstract Bile-based traditional Chinese medicines comprise a special category of medicinal materials that have distinct value in the treatment of liver diseases. Bile acids are the primary active components of bile-based TCMs. These components exert significant therapeutic effects by targeting key signaling pathways related to disease progression through bile acid receptors such as FXR and TGR5.

Electrified interfacial oxygen-down water boosts efficient and durable electrolysis
Abstract The oxygen evolution reaction proceeds through proton-coupled electron transfers, mastering interfacial proton dynamics is therefore the critical nexus for simultaneously achieving high catalytic activity and long-term stability. Herein, we establish an oxygen-down water adlayer (H2O ↓ ) that concurrently optimizing initial water deprotonation and subsequent proton transport.

Abstract Background Gushen Antai recipe (GSAT), known herbal medicine, has long been used in China to treat early pregnancy loss. Several randomised controlled trials have demonstrated its efficacy in improving clinical pregnancy rates. This study aimed to elucidate the mechanism of GSAT in patients undergoing in vitro fertilisation–embryo transfer (IVF-ET). Methods Patients undergoing IVF-ET were recruited on day 14 after embryo transfer.

Accredited hidden champion support and corporate ESG performance: evidence from China
Abstract We examine how support from the government for accredited hidden champions (accredited HCs) impacts corporate ESG engagement. Accredited HC is a firm that exhibits world-market leadership in its niche market. Based on a sample of Chinese listed firms over 2011–2020 and using a difference-in-differences (DID) method, we show that HCs accredited by the government, on average, exhibit better ESG performance than non-accredited firms.

Interruptions and downtime of continuous renal replacement therapy in critically ill adults: A retrospective observational study
What is known about the topic Interruptions of continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) were usually caused by filter exchange, intensive care unit (ICU) procedures (surgery, radiological investigations, etc.) and circuit alarms. In patients undergoing CRRT, an increased downtime could impair fluid and uremic control, acidosis management, and potentially increase the mortality rate. If downtime is not calculated regularly, positive fluid balance is more likely and the dose may be inadequate.

BRIEF RESEARCH REPORT article Sec. Marine Biotechnology and Bioproducts Volume 12 - 2025 | doi: 10.3389/fmars.2025.1531239 Provisionally accepted Phaeodactylum tricornutum is considered a potential lipid production platform due to its high growth rates and elevated natural neutral lipid and polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) contents. Furthermore, microalgae are emerging as promising sources of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).
A Consensus Community-Based Spider Wasp Optimization for Dynamic Community Detection
1. Introduction Over time, the discovery of community structure in complex networks has become a key task for researchers engaged in network analysis. The concept of community is most directly recognized as a set of clusters with tight internal connections and sparse external connections [1]. A community can be understood as a class of people, objects, or events with similar attributes, the same function, and consistent characteristics [2].

1 Introduction Geminiviruses are among the most devastating viruses, causing severe disease symptoms on vegetables, cereals, and ornamental plants in most tropical and subtropical regions in the world. The genome of geminiviruses is single-stranded circular DNA with a length of 2.5–5.2 kb (Hanley-Bowdoin et al. 1999; Fauquet et al. 2008). Geminiviruses are transmitted by different kinds of insect species, depending on different genera.

Single-pole double-throw--type optomechanically induced transparency
We propose a scheme for achieving twofold nonreciprocal optomechanically induced transparency (OMIT) in a three-cavity optomechanical system. In this system, an optical microring resonator is evanescently coupled to two microring optomechanical resonators simultaneously, and a beam splitter is utilized to establish two distinct optical paths. By utilizing a strong control laser and a weak probe laser to drive the resonators, a twofold nonreciprocal OMIT phenomenon can be observed.
