1 Introduction Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most aggressive malignant glioma in the central nervous system. Despite advances in surgical resection, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, median survival of GBM patients remains approximately 12–15 months [1, 2]. A major contributor to this poor prognosis is the presence of an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME), which reduces the effectiveness of immunotherapy such as immune checkpoint inhibition [3-5].
