Depression and anxiety mediate the association between sleep quality and health-related quality of life in people living with HIV
Abstract Sleep disturbances are highly prevalent among people living with HIV (PWH) and frequently co-occur with psychiatric comorbidities such as depression and anxiety. Although these factors independently predict health-related quality of life (HRQoL), the extent to which psychiatric symptoms explain the relationship between sleep quality and HRQoL—particularly within the Chinese context—remains unclear. Understanding these pathways is critical for optimizing holistic HIV care.
Protein Biomarkers in Risk and Prognosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
1 Introduction Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a devastating neurodegenerative disease characterized by the progressive loss of upper and lower motor neurons, leading to muscle weakness, paralysis, and respiratory failure. The global incidence of ALS is approximately 1.59 per 100,000 person-years, with a prevalence of 4.42 per 100,000 individuals [1]. A higher incidence rate is observed in Europe, ranging from 2.1 to 3.8 per 100,000 person-years [2].
A hybrid high activity aware framework integrating graph attention network and transformer for half maximal inhibitory concentration prediction
Abstract Introduction: Tyrosine kinase inhibitors targeting the c-KIT receptor are pivotal in the targeted therapy of malignancies such as gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). The bioactivity of these inhibitors is typically quantified by the half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50), making its accurate prediction a critical computational task for accelerating the discovery and optimization of anticancer lead compounds.
Lymphocyte activation gene 3 in autoimmune disease: from molecular mechanisms to clinical applications
Abstract Lymphocyte activation gene 3 (LAG3) has become an important immune checkpoint receptor, which plays a crucial role in regulating the immune response. The immunoregulatory function of LAG3 is achieved through complex receptor-ligand interactions, structure-function relationships, and unique signaling pathways. The role of LAG3 in cancers has been widely explored, and drugs targeting LAG3 are constantly emerging, demonstrating promising application prospects.

The chemistry of habitable oceans in the Solar system
Abstract Liquid water exists on the Earth and several other planetary bodies in our solar system. The chemical character of these aqueous reservoirs is central to evaluating their habitability. Here, we synthesize the chemical features of water reservoirs and their biological implications on the modern Earth. We then outline constraints on the evolutionary history of Earth’s ocean chemistry and discuss its interplay with the biosphere.
C/EBP alpha agonist ICCB280 overcomes doxorubicin resistance in osteosarcoma through mitochondrial dynamics-dependent GREM1-MAPK activation
Abstract The resistance of doxorubicin (DOX), the first-line chemotherapeutic drug for osteosarcoma (OS), stands as a pivotal obstacle in the effective treatment of OS. Alterations in mitochondrial dynamics and thereby affecting reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation play critical roles in DOX-induced cell death. However, the novel targets and pharmacological agents combating DOX resistance in OS via mitochondrial homeostasis and DOX-induced cell death manipulation is poorly understood.
Single-cell profiling reveals distinct populations of tumor-associated macrophages and metastatic tumor cells in breast cancer brain metastasis
Abstract Breast cancer brain metastasis (BCBM) is a major cause of breast cancer-related mortality, but the molecular mechanisms underlying its progression remain poorly understood. Here, we profiled the tumor immune microenvironment of BCBM at single-cell resolution and identified candidate regulators associated with brain metastatic progression.

Near-surface liquid water on Mars inferred from seasonal marsquakes - Nature Communications
Abstract Exploring the presence and behavior of water on Mars is critical for understanding the planet’s geological evolution, hydrological processes, and potential habitability, which has been a central objective of past and ongoing Martian exploration missions. Martian geomorphology provides evidence of ancient groundwater activity, but confirmation of present-day liquid water remains limited.
The total synthesis of (−)-spiroaspertrione A: A divinylcyclopropane rearrangement approach
Editor’s summary Spiroaspertrione A is a complex, polycyclic fungal natural product that has garnered interest in antibiotics research. Huang et al. now report a total synthesis of the compound in its natural stereoconfiguration starting from readily available precursors. Key steps included a Diels-Alder reaction to set the compound’s characteristic spiro stereocenter, as well as a divinylcyclopropane rearrangement to establish an additional out-of-plane ring.
Redox evolutions of planetary mantle reservoirs constrained by titanium isotopes - Communications Earth & Environment
Abstract The oxygen fugacity (hereafter referred as fO2) of terrestrial planets is key in defining the outcome of planetary-scale differentiation and the planets’ potential habitability. Reconstructing the initial fO2 records in the mantle right after core formation for terrestrial planets remain challenging due to frequent secondary modifications.

Earth’s evolving geodynamic regime recorded by titanium isotopes - Nature
|
Abstract Earth’s mantle has a two-layered structure, with the upper and lower mantle domains separated by a seismic discontinuity at about 660 km (refs. 1,2). The extent of mass transfer between these mantle domains throughout Earth’s history is, however, poorly understood. Continental crust extraction results in Ti-stable isotopic fractionation, producing isotopically light melting residues3,4,5,6,7.

Single‐Atom or Dual‐Atom in TiO2 Nanosheet: Which is the Better Choice for Electrocatalytic Urea Synthesis?
Graphical Abstract Dual-atom Pd1Cu1 active center in Pd1Cu1−TiO2 is more favourable for producing urea, which experiences a C−N coupling pathway with a lower energy barrier as compared with single-atom Pd1 in Pd1−TiO2. Abstract As rising star materials, single-atom and dual-atom catalysts have been widely reported in the electro-catalysis area. To answer the key question: single-atom and dual-atom catalysts, which is better for electrocatalytic urea synthesis?
Discover Paxos via 2pc
2pc and Paxos are solving the same problem Two Phase Commit, a.k.a 2pc, is a very well-known and intuitive algorithm, often used for coordinating transactions. Paxos is a well-known consensus algorithm, often used for replication on a stateful service. Paxos is less intuitive and harder to grasp. Atomic commit is a classic 2pc use case. E.g. you want to commit a transaction touching different MySQL shards.

When and How to Invalidate Cache
In this post, I will talk about one way to figure out when to invalidate cache entries. I will use the following setup as an example, which should be general enough, and at the end of the post, I will briefly talk about how to generalize it even more.
Cache made consistent: Meta’s cache invalidation solution
Caches help reduce latency, scale read-heavy workloads, and save cost. They are literally everywhere. Caches run on your phone and in your browser. For example, CDNs and DNS are essentially geo-replicated caches. It’s thanks to many caches working behind the scenes that you can read this blog post right now.
Recognition of the inherently unstable H2A nucleosome by Swc2 is a major determinant for unidirectional H2A.Z exchange
Highlights • Swc2-Z is a specific Swc2 region interacting with the nucleosome acidic patch • Swc2-Z facilitates the disassembly of the inherently unstable H2A nucleosome • H2A and H2A.Z residues in M4 regions affect nucleosome stability • Loss of Swc2-Z decreases SWR1 activity in vitro and in vivo Summary The multisubunit chromatin remodeler SWR1/SRCAP/p400 replaces the nucleosomal H2A-H2B dimer with the free-form H2A.Z-H2B dimer, but the mechanism governing the unidirectional H2A-to-H2A.Z...

Expulsion by pollution: the political economy of land grab for industrial parks in rural China
ABSTRACT This paper aims to broaden the analysis of the social-ecological impact of land grab. It does so by examining a hidden form of dispossession – expulsion by pollution within the context of industrial transfer inside China. Expulsion by pollution is different from the land dispossession described in most land grab studies as it involves expelling people from their land by reducing its use value through pollution, rather than taking the land away.
The impact origin and evolution of Chryse Planitia on Mars revealed by buried craters
Abstract Large impacts are one of the most important processes shaping a planet’s surface. On Mars, the early formation of the Martian crust and the lack of large impact basins (only four unambiguously identified: Hellas, Argyre, Utopia, and Isidis) indicates that a large part of early records of Mars’ impact history is missing.
