Why did you become a journalist?
Sports transcends the field. It deserves coverage because it's part of communities across the country and world.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I helped start one, but just as a writer. We did not know AP style as we did not have any sort of journalism/writing for news courses.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I worked a story on a late Idaho Steelheads hockey player. I was able to get archival footage of him playing in the 2000s.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Work hard and focus on accuracy. Accuracy is better than being first and inaccurate.

Anytime during the day
What's the best pitch you ever got?
In news once, I got a great story on returning national guard soldiers. I ended up grabbing some great SOTs and footage.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Not really any specific story but pitches that were only relevant to a very small percentage of viewers.
What's your favorite drink?
Water. Yes, that's a bit boring but it's true.

Hiking or lifting

People thinks sports is just highlights.
