MEMPHIS, Tenn. (KCTV/Gray News) - A former University of Kansas basketball player has been charged with attempted first-degree murder. According to court records, 29-year-old Lagerald Vick allegedly shot a man during an argument at a Fourth of July party. Vick allegedly approached the victim at the party and the two started arguing. The victim told investigators that Vick had a handgun tucked under his armpit.

Colin Bales, a physical therapist and Air National Guard member, was airlifted to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota, after the accident. He has since undergone two surgeries and remains in stable condition.

A motorcycle crash at 110 mph into a pole broke bones in his neck, leaving him paralyzed below the waist and physically frozen in a twisted position. “I don’t know what happened. I woke up a few months later from my coma at Stanford University,” Graham said. Graham did not leave his room for eight months following the crash.
