HENDERSON, N.C. (WBTV) - Two inmates who escaped a jail in North Carolina this week were helped, according to the sheriff. The inmates -- 33-year-old Michael Lewis Miles Jr. and 21-year-old Lishawn Knott -- escaped from the Vance County jail around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3. A short video clip showed Miles and Knott running down a jail hallway, presumably during their escape. They were still wearing orange jumpsuits and slides.
