PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — Breaking overnight, a three-day strike is over after PECO and the union representing its workers, IBEW Local 614, finally reached a new contract deal. Both the union and energy provider confirmed the tentative deal late Monday night, ending the strike of 1,600 workers that began on July 4. Negotiations first began in January, and workers have been without a contract since April. But following severe weather this past weekend and power outages, both sides reached a deal fast.
