One of the more puzzling moves that the Commanders made this offseason was cutting starting center Tyler Biadasz and not adding an obvious replacement. Biadasz was one of the first free agents that the Adam Peters and Dan Quinn regime brought in and he had an excellent first season with the team back in 2024. Like most players on the team in 2025, he had a bit of a down year but I personally didn’t feel he played anywhere near bad enough to be cut.

Can David Blough make Josh Conerly Jr. a "weapon"?

Earlier this offseason, new Commanders coordinator David Blough talked about using his young, athletic offensive lineman as “weapons”, specifically citing 2025 first round pick Josh Conerly Jr. Conerly had some ups and downs in his rookie year with a rough start followed by some encouraging development down the stretch. He’s been working all offseason with star left tackle Laremy Tunsil and as we saw at mini camp last week, that work is helping him improve his technique.

The Washington Commanders began their week of mandatory minicamp this week off the back of three weeks of voluntary OTAs. This is the last action we’ll see from the team until training camp begins in late July. One of the more interesting clips I saw from practices this week came on the opening day of practice. After practice, Josh Conerly and Laremy Tunsil were spotted practicing pass sets. Zach Selby, writer for the Commanders official website, filmed a clip.
