Maye, QB competition
The most important storyline for the Patriots this year revolves around their quarterback position. The Patriots invested heavily in the position by signing Jacoby Brissett and then drafting Drake Maye and Joe Milton III. The team has allowed itself to take its time with Maye, who reportedly agreed to terms on a rookie contract, as it assesses the position battle. If the third overall pick isn’t ready to start, the Patriots are comfortable with starting Brissett this season.
Round 4 - A deal for more D
There’s an old adage, “there’s safety in numbers”, and Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst is giving that a twist this weekend by adding numbers at safety. A position that has been overhauled since last season with the departures of Darnell Savage, Rudy Ford and Jonathan Owens, Gutekunst started re-stocking the room in free agency by signing former Giant Xavier McKinney and he’s now added two safeties in the 89th NFL Draft.
It’s clear that Patriots must draft a QB with their top pick
A general manager can do almost everything right and still lose the Super Bowl if his team doesn’t have the better quarterback. That point felt obvious on Sunday as Patrick Mahomes lifted the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl LVIII victory over the San Francisco 49ers. On paper, the 49ers had the better roster. This season, San Francisco led all NFL teams with nine players selected to the Pro Bowl and six players selected to the AP All-Pro team.

The Packers put in their heavy workout of Super Wild Card week today, donning pads for practice inside the Don Hutson Center. Only three players didn’t participate, a good sign. A.J.
