Mark Menard’s Biography

Mark Menard made his way to New Orleans by way of a south Louisiana childhood in Morgan City and a formative stint in Thibodaux where he earned a degree in journalism from Nicholls State University. He started at WWL in 2003 as a twiddler of knobs and answerer of phones, but worked his way through the ranks to become a deliverer of sports and now toils as a chronicler of news.

Formerly the weekday afternoon sports anchor for WWL and a member of the Sports Talk team with Bobby Hebert and Kristian Garic, as well as an integral part of WWL's gameday coverage of the New Orleans Saints, Mark moved into a more global capacity for WWL's parent company Audacy and its central news team.

In that new role, Mark provided a robust array of digital content for not just WWL.com, but Audacy's vast array of other fine radio stations all over the United States.

Now a free agent, Mark remains an unabashed Saints and Pelicans fan, an amateur but accomplished pop music historian, and a cultured enthusiast of "nerd stuff," Mark aspires to one day rise to a level of importance that affords him many leather-bound books and a home that smells of rich mahogany.
