Earlier the same day, Michigan upset No. 2 Ohio State in Columbus, beating the Buckeyes 13 to 10 on their home turf.

Austin police respond to 2 separate SWAT incidents overnight

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police responded to two separate SWAT situations overnight. At around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police got a call from a woman on East Stassney Lane who said her boyfriend had assaulted her. Officers arrived at the scene a few minutes later and found a man had barricaded himself inside an apartment with a gun. SWAT officers were called in to assist. At around 2:45 a.m. Thursday, SWAT officers entered the apartment and found the man dead from self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

Shooting on Berkman Drive in Austin leaves 1 injured

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department said a woman is in the hospital after she was shot at a northeast Austin apartment complex. The shooting happened at the Casa Hills Apartments @ 290 on Regan Hill Drive, near Berkman Drive, in the St. Johns neighborhood. Police say the woman was shot inside an apartment, but officers did not provide details on the extent of the woman's injuries.
