The modern era is festooned with the impolite, inappropriate, startling and bullying things Donald Trump has said or done. Often this has given the chattering classes something to sputter about. Trump’s supporters get to chortle, his opponents get to gesticulate huffily about the latest evidence the President is a goon, and everyone is happy. Trump’s jawboning and hassling of Denmark about maybe selling us Greenland, for example, has (so far) been pretty entertaining.
