ST. LOUIS (First Alert 4) -- As Dametria McDile arrived at the St. Louis City Justice Center in June 2024, the state of Missouri’s backlog of psychiatric treatment beds continued to mount. McDile, accused of crimes related to an assault, was ordered to be held on no bond. More than a year later, in August 2025, a court ordered her to undergo a mental examination.

The CAO took Lowe-Bey’s review application into consideration in May 2024.

Most of Missouri’s Narcan funding restored after proposed $8M budget cut

ST. LOUIS (First Alert 4) -- More than half of an $8 million funding cut to Missouri’s Narcan distribution program was restored in the state’s final budget that passed this week. The cut would have reduced the total funding for the program by more than half. The distribution program’s funding was partially restored by $5 million. After a boost to $13 million the previous two fiscal years, the total program funding for Fiscal Year 2027 will be $10.1 million.
