LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Attorneys for a deputy arrested and fired this week have responded, questioning the investigation into their client. Elliott Phillips, 34, was arrested on Wednesday on one count of domestic abuse battery. Phillips’ attorneys, Adam Johnson and Andy Leonards, released a statement to 7News, saying the situation began after Elliott found text messages between his wife and a superior officer.

Christian Drew Chesson, 56, was released Wednesday (June 3) after spending five nights under lock and key. Christian Chesson Judge Cynthia Clay Guillory held Chesson in contempt last week and ordered him to spend 10 days in jail beginning Friday, May 29.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A Lake Charles attorney is in jail after he was allegedly caught recording in the courtroom. Judge Cynthia Guillory sentenced Christian Drew Chesson, 56, to 10 days in jail after holding him in contempt of court for recording during his own custody case. Christian Chesson Chesson placed his phone on the podium to record a May 28 hearing, according to Guidry’s order, which also said it was his third time being found in contempt of court.
