Matthew Mayich, a sophomore defenseman at Arizona State University from Ontario, Canada, collapsed on Aug. 20 during an outdoor workout in Tempe, Arizona. Mayich was rushed to a local hospital, where he remains. His family’s lawyer, Robert Carey, said the 21-year-old is incapacitated, and his condition is “highly unlikely” to change.

LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (KGO) - A swimmer is recovering after she was attacked by a river otter in Lake Tahoe on Sunday. “It, like, ripped the goggles off my face. Ah, yeah it got me on the temple here, on my cheek, my nose,” Lynnette Bellin said. Bellin suffered injuries to her face, arms and legs from the attack and had to get 38 stitches. “Like claw marks there, I have full on bite marks on this arm,” she said pointing to the injuries. She said it happened on her weekly swim in the lake.
