ENOSBURG - Enosburg’s defense was put to work on Saturday, August 29, as the Hornets hosted a strong Peoples Academy attack, falling 6-0 to the Wolves. Under new head coach Deveny Wolfe, assisted by Rich Ross and Hamed Mendscole, the Hornets battled a Peoples Academy squad that established offensive pressure early. The Wolves found the net twice in the opening portion of the first half, but Enosburg’s defense continued to battle, working to disrupt the attack and clear the ball out of danger.

ST. ALBANS - On Saturday, August 29, the BFA-St. Albans Comets varsity soccer squad took on the North Country Falcons in their home opener. BFA established a 1-0 lead right off, wasting no time and scoring within the first 30 seconds of the game. The Comets continued to apply pressure early on in the competition and were awarded a penalty kick, but the Falcons’ goalkeeper came up with a great save to keep the deficit at one. Despite the missed goal, this didn’t slow BFA down.

On Saturday, August 29, the Missisquoi Valley Union Thunderbirds girls' varsity soccer team fell 1-0 to Milton in a hard-fought road contest. Shelby Smith, MVU's keeper, made 18 saves, while Milton's keeper made 17. Milton scored with 2:40 left in regulation. MVU coach Roy Adams said, "We played a very good game and had many scoring opportunities. Both teams played pretty even through the whole game. As we move forward, we should get better; all the new players did a great job."

The Richford Rockets soccer team won 8-2 over Blue Mountain on Saturday, August 28. Richford's goals were scored by Rose Witherspoon, Mia St. Pierre, and Jazzy Cunningham, who each had two, and Katelyn Doe and Adi Chagnon, who each had one. Lilly Longe, Carleigh Gervais, Madelyn King, Jazzy Cunningham, and Rose Witherspoon all had assists. Mollie Smith had 13 saves for the Rockets, and Ava Kingsbury had 29 saves for Blue Mountain.

The BFA-St. Albans' cross country team opened its season on Saturday, August 29, at the Annual Essex Invitational. The teams picked up where they left off last season, among some of the best in Vermont, but with a lot of new faces helping to make the team successful, and a lot of upperclassmen who worked hard all summer to help keep the team competitive. The JV girls set the tone for the day, placing third as a team with a pack of four leading the charge.

ST. ALBANS - The BFA-St. Albans Bobwhites varsity soccer team opened up their season on Friday, August 28, in a home bout with the Montpelier Solons. The Bobwhites got off to a hot start with a 6-3 win to get their season started in style. The early minutes of the game were mostly controlled by the Solons, as the Bobwhites struggled to maintain possession of the ball. Bobwhites keeper Quinn Blackburn made a key stop with just over 25 minutes to play in the half to keep the game scoreless.

FAIRFAX - On Friday, August 28, BFA-Fairfax came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Caledonia United. It took hard work, communication, and leadership to bring the Bullets to a 4-2 win. Both teams started the game with energy and tenacity, but Caledonia went on a hot streak, scoring in the first 15 minutes and again with 16 minutes remaining in the first half. However, that didn't stop Fairfax from giving everything they had to come back.

On Friday, August 28, the Enosburg Hornets girls’ volleyball team defeated South Burlington 3-0 (25-17, 25-8, 25-16) in the first match of the 2026 season. Enosburg highlights: Ava Burns: 2 aces Lexie Gaboriault: 9 kills Alivia Johnson: 3 kills Hazel Kane: 1 kill, 2 assists Colleen Robtoy: 3 aces, 6 kills, 9 assists Annalise Robtoy: 2 aces, 10 assists, 7 kills Addie West: 3 aces, 7 kills, 2 blocks Coach Jason Robtoy said, "This is a great start to our season.

ENOSBURG - The Enosburg Hornets boys' varsity soccer team won 5-2 over the Lamoille Lancers on Friday, August 29. Senior Sawyer Bentley led the Hornets with three goals.
