BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - More than 100 fifth graders from Fairmount School in Bangor took a classroom break to give back to the community. At the Maine Audubon Mural site off Broadway, students planted native plants and shrubs along a retaining wall that was previously made up of all invasives. Bangor Beautiful and Maine Audubon collaborated for the project. Their goal is to give small insects a place to live, leading to birds in the area having their food chain available, tying it all together.

Thanks to donations, support, and a collaboration with Tyler Technologies and Versant Power, this brand-new playground became possible. ORONO, Maine (WABI) - Folks in Orono now have another spot for good eats and drinks. After going through renovations for 15 months, Black Bear Brewing and Pub will officially re-open Friday, Oct. 3! The soft opening will take place from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. with live music from Chris Ross. The general manager said this new chapter in Orono will give people a chance to enjoy different foods and drinks, all while creating memories.
