Boek | The Book Witch - Meg Shaffer
Rainy March is a proud third-generation book witch, sworn to defend works of fiction from all foes real and imaginary. With her magical umbrella and feline familiar, she jumps into and out of novels to fix malicious alterations and wrangle characters that go off-script. Book witches live by a strict code: Real people belong in the real word; fictional characters belong in works of fiction.... Do not eat, drink, or sleep inside a fictional world, lest you become part of the story.

Review: A journalist finds the culprit in riveting look at long-unsolved double murder
Yes, the riveting "Trailed" explores what happened to two hikers whose mutilated bodies were discovered at a campsite in Shenandoah National Park in 1996. But Kathryn Miles' Edgar Award finalist, now in paperback, also looks at why it's difficult for people, especially women, to feel safe in some of our most beautiful places. Julie Williams, a St. Cloud, Minnesota, native, and Lollie Winans met via Woodswomen Inc., a Minneapolis-based adventure club.

Killing Me by Michelle Gagnon Michelle Gagnon's Killing Me tells the story of a relentless serial killer hunting a con woman across the country. Gagnon's fifth adult mystery is terrifically off-kilter, veering as it does from laugh-out-loud humor to its hard-edged plot points. A funny serial-killer novel has inherent problems, but Gagnon (Unearthly Things; Strangelets) handles the comic moments with aplomb.

This New Novel Stars a Reclusive Author and a Mysterious Contest
My copy of A Wrinkle in Time is the yellow one from Dell Yearling, cover price of $1.25. Three children sit on the back of a marble-white centaur, a rainbow behind them as they fly through the sky over a strange planet. I own about five copies with all different covers, but the yellow Yearling one I bought because it was my cover from the fifth grade. I remember so many of the books we read for school in those years.
