LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX News) — A man is in the hospital after a near-drowning at a Lexington apartment complex Wednesday night, just as families prepare to hit the pool for the July 4th holiday weekend. Lexington Fire crews were called to Lakeshore Drive around 8 p.m. Wednesday. When first responders arrived, the man had already been pulled from the water and was rushed to the hospital. His condition has not yet been confirmed.

NICHOLAS COUNTY, Ky. (LEX NEWS) — A pandemic, a flood, and a highway project right outside their front door could have spelled disaster for the Logan family. Instead, it planted the seeds for 68 West Farm Market in Nicholas County. Erica Logan started selling produce next to the family's old tobacco barn during COVID-19 — and in the middle of the 2021 flood. Customers kept stopping, and her husband Brad saw potential in that worn-out barn, which had once housed tobacco and later cattle.

Lexington man sentenced to 25 years in prison for murdering his 9-month-old daughter

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX NEWS) — Tensions ran high in a Fayette County courtroom Wednesday, as a Lexington man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the death of his 9-month-old daughter. Syied Epps, 31, pleaded guilty in May to murder and domestic violence in the death of Sykia Epps. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors agreed to dismiss a second charge in the indictment — persistent felony offender. Prosecutors claim the baby suffered severe brain trauma in July of 2023 and died a week later.
