COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — After months of debate over how to regulate hemp-based THC drinks and edibles already being sold across South Carolina, proposed statewide rules were left in limbo after House lawmakers voted down a compromise plan. Thursday after hours of debate, House lawmakers rejected a deal that the Senate had overwhelmingly approved earlier in the day. Lawmakers said they were concerned about the impact the regulations would have on businesses in the state.
