Optimized Bi-LSTM Model for Short-Term Predicting of Ship State with Definitions of Surf-Riding and Broaching
1. Introduction The prediction of a ship’s attitude motions in sea waves is crucial for ensuring maritime safety. Surf-riding occurs when a ship is accelerated by a following wave, matching its speed. Based on the state of surf-riding and broaching, capsizing will happen when the velocity of the ship exceeds the velocity of the wave [1]. It is difficult for fishing boats, high-speed ferries and naval vessels, which are mainly small vessels, to maintain stability in such conditions.

A neurodevelopmental disorder mutation locks G proteins in the transitory pre-activated state - Nature Communications
Abstract Many neurotransmitter receptors activate G proteins through exchange of GDP for GTP. The intermediate nucleotide-free state has eluded characterization, due largely to its inherent instability. Here we characterize a G protein variant associated with a rare neurological disorder in humans. GαoK46E has a charge reversal that clashes with the phosphate groups of GDP and GTP.
A clade of receptor-like cytoplasmic kinases and 14-3-3 proteins coordinate inositol hexaphosphate accumulation - Nature Communications
Abstract Inositol hexaphosphate (InsP6) is the major storage form of phosphorus in seeds. Reducing seed InsP6 content is a breeding objective in agriculture, as InsP6 negatively impacts animal nutrition and the environment. Nevertheless, how InsP6 accumulation is regulated remains largely unknown. Here, we identify a clade of receptor-like cytoplasmic kinases (RLCKs), named Inositol Polyphosphate-related Cytoplasmic Kinases 1-6 (IPCK1-IPCK6), deeply involved in InsP6 accumulation.

Amination of Polylactic Acid to Alanine by Ru-Co Bimetallic Catalyst The preparation of alanine from waste polylactic acid (PLA) is not only an effective way to recycle waste plastics, but also of great significance to develop a green, clean and efficient amino acid production process. In this work, we studied the synthesis of alanine by amination of PLA with ammonia solution over different types of supported bimetallic catalysts without external hydrogen.
The LRR receptor-like kinase ALR1 is a plant aluminum ion sensor - Cell Research
Abstract Plant survival requires an ability to adapt to differing concentrations of nutrient and toxic soil ions, yet ion sensors and associated signaling pathways are mostly unknown. Aluminum (Al) ions are highly phytotoxic, and cause severe crop yield loss and forest decline on acidic soils which represent ∼30% of land areas worldwide. Here we found an Arabidopsis mutant hypersensitive to Al. The gene encoding a leucine-rich-repeat receptor-like kinase, was named Al Resistance1 (ALR1).

Neuroprotection afforded by targeting G protein-coupled receptors in heteromers and by heteromer-selective drugs
Introduction G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are the target of 30%–40% of approved drugs. Early functionality studies related to neurotransmission/neuromodulation led to the hypothesis of receptor-receptor interactions (Agnati et al., 1982). Among the major GPCR families (Alexander et al., 2021), taste receptors form macromolecular complexes made up of at least two different receptors (Nelson et al., 2002).

Synthesis of Ethanol via Reaction of Dimethyl Ether with CO2 and H2
Ethanol is currently produced via catalytic hydration of ethylene or fermentation of foods. Synthesis of ethanol from cheap and renewable CO2 is of great importance, but state of the art routes encounter difficulties, especially in reaction selectivity and activity. Here we show a strategy of ethanol synthesis from CO2, dimethyl ether (DME) and H2. The reaction can be effectively promoted by Ru-Co bimetallic catalyst using LiI as promoter in 1,3-dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone (DMI) solvent.
