Merriam Police are investigating a crash that ended with a driver being partially ejected on Interstate 35 near Johnson Drive overnight. The crash happened at about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, in the northbound lanes of I-35 over Johnson Drive. It was the second straight night a crash on I-35 brought emergency responders to a stretch of the highway in northeastern Johnson County after a late-night, wrong-way crash injured three people on Tuesday night. Three people were injured in a crash caused by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 35 in Johnson County late Tuesday night. The crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-35 near 75th Street at about 10:55 p.m. Master Police Officer Danny Chavez, a spokesperson for the Lenexa Police Department, said two officers were wrapping up a traffic stop on southbound I-35 between 87th and 95th streets when a vehicle driving north in the southbound lanes passed the officers.

An affidavit released late last week has revealed new details about the argument at a Mission apartment complex’s swimming pool that left two women needing stitches.
