A Quick Word on Second Dribbles
Ball handling, I find, is an under-discussed aspect of scouting prospects. If a prospect has an unreal handle, we take note of it. Other than that, crickets. On some level, I get it. If you asked me to discern the nuances between the 10th best dribbler in a draft class versus the 15th, 20th, or even 40th, I may have some trouble. To make matters worse, there isn’t an easy statistical proxy for dribbling skill.
AJ Dybantsa and Grading the Flashes
In the past, I’ve written extensively about a phenomenon I call compounding skills, referring to the evolution of a raw athlete into a complete offensive player. Only a few players possess the requisite physical dimensions, coordination, and fluidity of movement to have the potential at a compounding skills trajectory. When assessing the upside of such players, I’ve solidified another rule: grade the flashes.
Long-term Neuropsychiatric Developmental Defects after Neonatal Organophosphate Exposure: Mitigation by Synthetic Neurosteroids
Abstract Children are highly susceptible to the neurotoxic effects of organophosphate (OP) pesticides and nerve agents than adults. OP poisoning in children leads to acute seizures and neuropsychiatric sequela, including the development of long-term disabilities and cognitive impairments. Despite these risks, there are few chronic rodent models that utilize pediatric OP exposure for studying neurodevelopmental consequences and interventions.
Michael Neff’s 2023 Big Board
Happy Draft Day, everyone. It’s time to reveal my personal rankings of the 2023 class. This is an absolutely fascinating class that I had a great time evaluating. Obviously, Victor Wembanyama is the headliner. But, teams will have plenty of intriguing two-way contributors and upside swings to choose from down the board. As always, I’m sure that I got plenty wrong. However, I made a concerted effort arranging my board to reflect the direction the NBA has been heading in.
One-Size Fits All Draft Strategy
Michael Neff’s Strategy for the 2023 Draft Lately, I have been dissatisfied with using a big board as a means of properly reflecting my thoughts on a given draft class. I would target certain players in each range of the draft. The rest are just red herrings who are decent to good prospects, but I am fine missing out on them. That’s why forming a big board is so challenging. There are guys like Jalen Slawson and Kobe Brown who I have strong conviction about as second round fliers.
Reynolds Tops School Record, Four Qualifying Marks Hit as Men’s TF Opens Outdoor Season
Smithfield, RI -- The WPI men's track and field team made its outdoor debut this weekend at the Bryant Black & Gold Invitational. The Engineers finished 12th overall bolstered by a school record from senior David Reynolds (Andover, NH). Reynolds continued to etch his name in the WPI record book with a school-best mark in the 5,000m event. He went 14:47.41 today to secure a win while topping the previous school record of 14:54.49 set by Austin Scott '17 in 2017.
Long-Term Neuropsychiatric Developmental Defects after Neonatal Organophosphate Exposure: Mitigation by Synthetic Neurosteroids
Introduction Acute intoxication with organophosphates (OPs) is associated with life-threatening cholinergic toxidrome, sudden onset of seizures, and development of refractory status epilepticus (SE). OPs act as irreversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, elevating acetylcholine levels (Tafuri and Roberts, 1987).
The Suffering Bastard Riff Recipe
The Story Behind The Suffering Bastard Riff The original version of this tiki-influenced Highball was invented in 1942 by Joe Scialom at the Shepheard’s Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. It was one of the rum-less cocktails that Trader Vic helped popularize, and it is still enjoyed by many cocktail enthusiasts today, due to its straightforward template of spirits, carbonation, and some bitters for depth of flavor.

Comment: Moving at the speed of fashion
Fashion moves at an incredible pace. New trends appear out of nowhere, whether for a specific kind of patterned shirt or an innovative new backpack, and suddenly everybody wants one. For retailers, it becomes a rush to stock these items before fashion moves on. Many have invested in product lifecycle management (PLM) to get products in store faster and more efficiently.
