Samsung Odyssey G7 40" review - The cockpit experience your desk didn't know it needed
The first time that 1000R curve wraps around your peripheral vision at 180Hz, you'll understand why flat 16:9 monitors suddenly feel like looking through a window instead of being inside the game. Samsung's Odyssey G7 40" isn't trying to be everything to everyone; at $1,200 MSRP, it can't afford to be.
Elegoo Centauri Carbon review - Prints like a dream, calibrates like a drama queen
Earlier this year the Elegoo Centauri Carbon made waves as an enclosed CoreXY printer that punches above its weight class. Can Elegoo's first CoreXY model truly challenge twice-as-priced rivals? After more than 200 hours of use, it performs on par with those higher‑priced competitors, though not without a few trade-offs. The printer comes assembled and can go from box-to-calibrating within minutes.
Razer Blade 14 (2025) Review - High-spec hardware, mid-range mobility
As someone who's been through the wringer with Razer laptops, my trusty 2021 Blade 14 has survived four years of coffee shop coding sessions and weekend gaming marathons. I approached the 2025 Razer Blade 14 like unboxing a new hoodie: fresh out of the package, crisp edges, and that just-right fit you can't wait to test. My current machine? That hoodie you've worn threadbare—faded colors with more holes than you'd like, but still more comfortable than anything you've tried to replace it.
PNY Duo Link V3 Review - File transfer with USB, dongle-free
Stop the dongle parade. Finally, a USB drive that gets its life together and sports both ends: trusty USB-A for your legacy gear and sleek USB-C for the modern devices. One drive, two essential connectors—simply flip and connect. Effortless joy for your devices (and you). The PNY Duo Link V3 promises to end the adapter shuffle. So, it handles ports like a dream, but how does it actually handle your files? The PNY Duo Link V3 isn't just versatile—it's quick.
Elyarchi Alcheman Kickstarter campaign is live
Here at GamingTrend we've taken a look at many 3D printers over the years. Lately, we've seen a lot of innovation in the space but something we haven't seen much of is a printer that focuses on high-performance materials like PEEK, PEI and Carbon Fiber enhanced filaments. The Elyarchi Alcheman Kickstarter campaign looks to lower technical barriers and allow some of those tough-to-print materials to be more accessible to home users.
PNY CS2342 M.2 NVMe SSD review - Small drive, big capacity, bigger performance
Running out of space on your Steam Deck (or other handheld gaming PC) is a surprisingly common problem, especially with modern game install sizes ballooning. While Valve's handheld offers incredible gaming portability, its base storage can quickly become a bottleneck. The PNY CS2342 M.2 NVMe SSD, available in both 1TB and 2TB capacities, aims to solve that headache by offering a simple (though not entirely without effort) upgrade path for significantly expanded storage.
LG UltraGear 27GX790A review - Vibrant colors at blazing speeds
The LG UltraGear 27GX790A is a compelling option for gamers seeking a high-performance, visually stunning monitor. While its impressive specifications—including QHD resolution, the vibrant and contrast-rich visuals of an OLED panel, and an astonishing 480Hz refresh rate—are enticing on paper, the true test lies in how it performs during everyday use.
Cevaton P5 Dual Laptop Screen Extender - A nomad's second screen
Portable monitors are no longer just a niche accessory—they're a lifeline for remote workers, gamers, and creators juggling on-the-go workflows. Enter the Cevaton P5 Portable Monitor, a 15.6-inch screen wrapped in a sleek, travel-ready design that promises durability without sacrificing style. Is this the Swiss Army knife of portable displays, or does it fall short when the rubber meets the road? The P5 offers two main setups.

BenQ beCreatus GR10 review - Business in the front, party just beneath the surface
As someone who’s tested a handful of USB-C hubs and docking stations—from the Steam Deck’s official dock to budget models—the BenQ beCreatus GR10 caught my eye. Priced at $109 at the time of this writing, it’s positioned as a premium option for gamers craving desktop-grade performance on the go. But does it live up to the hype, or is it just another overpriced dongle? After weeks of testing, here’s the breakdown.
3D Printing - GamingTrend
The popularity of resin 3D printing is still pretty new, and there are still many unknowns about its byproducts. Best of Gen Con 2024- Better late than never edition
|
Convention season was very intense in 2024, with GamingTrend attending more tabletop cons than any other year prior. In fact, we went to so many conventions this year we still have content to publish on our Youtube channel from Origins and Gen Con (so keep your eyes peeled!). Needless to say, we’ve been very busy! Unfortunately, our Best of Gen Con Awards piece kept of being put on the back-burner, which is why you are reading this in late November instead of early September.

Enzion S6 Triple Monitor Extender review - A full desk experience to-go
The Enzion S6 is a triple-screen laptop monitor extender that brings two additional displays to either side of your laptop’s main screen. As someone who uses a triple-monitor setup at home, I’m always looking for ways to boost productivity when I’m away from my desk, and the S6 seemed like the perfect solution. Though it’s built for portability, it’s a bit bulky; while it fits nicely in its provided case, it’s not something you’ll slip into a standard laptop bag alongside your computer.
Sihoo Doro C300 Pro review - An ergonomic chair that adapts to you, mostly
I recently had the chance to try out the SIHOO Doro C300 Pro, an ergonomic office chair designed with comfort and customization in mind. With adjustments for height, recline, lumbar support, and armrest positioning, this chair has a lot going on. As someone who spends a fair amount of time in front of a screen, having a chair that can support all kinds of postures and prevent me from becoming a banana-shaped slouch is a big plus.
Quntis RGB Pro review - Task lighting meets RGB vibes for your gaming setup
The Quntis RGB Pro light bar aims to do more than just light up your desk—it’s here to bring some serious atmosphere to your setup. Designed with a solid 20-inch frame for larger monitors, it offers downward-facing light to illuminate your workspace along with RGB backlighting to set the perfect vibe. You get easy control with a touch remote, tons of customization options for color and brightness, and even some thoughtful design touches to keep screen glare at bay.
FlexiSpot XRC5 Rocker Recliner review - Unwind in style, stay for a while
I recently got my hands on the FlexiSpot XRC5 Recliner, and let me tell you, I was excited to see if it could live up to its promises of comfort and relaxation. FlexiSpot is known for their ergonomic products, but does that reputation extend to their recliners? With features like an oversized design, massage and heat functions, and a built-in swivel and rocking mechanism, this chair has a lot going for it on paper. But how does it hold up in practice? Let’s dive in and find out.
Kefeya S1 Portable Laptop Screen Extender review - Mobile multitasking made easy
As someone with a triple-monitor setup on my desk, it’s hard to adjust to a single screen when I use my laptop away from my desk. For the past few weeks I’ve been using the Kefeya S1 laptop screen extender to have a dual-monitor setup on the go. But does this portable monitor really bring the same productivity boost, or is it just extra weight in your bag? Let’s dive in and find out. Pulling the monitor out of the box, I was surprised by how light it felt.
FlexiSpot E7L Standing Desk review - Big on space, strong on performance
FlexiSpot has a wide variety of standing desks, and they’ve recently released the FlexiSpot E7L, a pro-level L-shaped standing desk. I recently got my hands on one, and it’s designed to offer both plenty of space and top-tier functionality for those looking to upgrade their workspace. But does the E7L truly deliver on its promises, or is it just another standing desk with extra surface area? Let’s dive in and find out. But before we dive into the details, not interested in an L-shaped desk?
Creality Ender 3 V3 Plus review - Scaling up your 3D printing game
I was originally introduced to 3D printing with the Ender 3 V3 SE (you can see my review here). Creality recently released the Ender 3 V3 Plus, which is essentially the same as the Ender 3 V3 but with a 58% larger build volume—hence the “Plus” in the name. We also reviewed the Ender 3 V3, and you can find that review here.
UPLIFT V2 Commercial Standing Desk Review - The endgame of standing desks
When I bought my first standing desk, UPLIFT was on my short list, but it was a bit out of my price range for the size I wanted, so I ended up looking elsewhere. While shopping for my previous desk, I had the benefit of some meatballs to snack on, but there weren’t many redeeming qualities beyond that. The adage “you get what you pay for” really shines when comparing my previous desk with two legs to the UPLIFT Standing Desk with four legs. How different could a desk really be?

Step into the trenches with Verdun, a 1v1 and 2v2 trick-taking game that immerses you in the harrowing battlefields of World War I. Representing the German and French armies, players must navigate dwindling hands and strategic plays that sometimes aid the enemy, reflecting the grueling back-and-forth nature of the Verdun battles. Factory 42 review - Dwarven dynamics through worker placement and negotiation
Step into the bustling corridors of Factory 42, where you’re thrust into the role of overseeing Marxistic dwarves in an industrialized setting fraught with resource management, negotiation, and government mandates. Designed by Ren Multimäki and published by Dragon Dawn Productions, Factory 42 is a worker placement game for 2-5 players and invites you into a world where acquiring resources and fulfilling government orders should be straightforward.
Creality Ender 3 V3 SE review - A beginner’s journey
Starting my 3D printing adventure with the Creality Ender 3 V3 SE has been an eye-opening journey from beginner to slightly-more-than-beginner. This user-friendly printer, packed with complex features, taught me the ropes of 3D printing. It’s versatile, handling everything from detailed game pieces to practical household items. The Ender 3 V3 SE is not just a tool but a gateway to the expansive world of 3D printing, offering a balance that appeals to both beginners and seasoned users.

Beacon Patrol review - Navigating tranquil waters in a cooperative voyage
Beacon Patrol, brought to harbor by Pandasaurus Games, presents a nautical adventure that encourages 1-4 players to navigate the coast of the North Sea to secure its waterways. As Coast Guard captains, players are tasked with mapping the coast by exploring the waters and inspecting lighthouses and buoys. Lay tiles, move your ship and collaborate with the other captains to traverse the sea. The objective of Beacon Patrol is to expand the board by laying tiles to “explore” tiles.

A no-brainer for U.S. job creation: Update solar permitting and inspections
Solar is big enough now that its soft costs are a real drag on local economic activity. Soft costs in the U.S. defy the example of other countries that install solar at one-third the cost because of how the steps that drive soft costs have been structured. A New Look at Bob Hope: 11 Rare Photos from the USO Archives
By Mike Case When most people think of the USO, the first thing that comes to mind, understandably, is the legendary entertainer Bob Hope. A true patriot, Hope first performed for U.S. troops in California in May 1941, just a few months before the Pearl Harbor Attacks and the country’s official entrance into World War II.
Here are 11 Hard-To-Find D-Day Photos Straight From the National Archives
By Mike Case If you think you’ve seen every photo from D-Day, think again. We combed through National Archives files and hand-selected some rare photographs in honor of the anniversary of D-Day. On June 6, 1944, more than 160,000 Allied troops – including about 73,000 Americans – landed along a 50-mile stretch of French coastline to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. By day’s end, Allied forces gained a foothold in Continental Europe, but the cost in lives was high.
What it takes to support and grow Vox Product
As a candidate for a new job, my favorite questions to ask an interviewer are usually something like: "What was the person who previously filled this role like? What did they do day to day?" So, in support of this new job posting and to provide some insight into how we organize Vox Product, I thought I'd try to share some preemptive answers. Vox Product is a team of over 80 designers, engineers, product managers, and QA and support staff breathing digital life into Vox Media's brands.

There was no good reason for Hillary Clinton to use private email
There are three things I remember vividly from when I took my oath of office as a career federal employee in the current administration: the mountain of paperwork required to get signed up for my health benefits, the peppy presentation by the guy who ran the office gym, and the very serious, very clear instructions regarding federal records. The messages were loud and clear. Don’t lose or break your equipment, and don’t use your own.
The End of Winter
I’ve played video games for most of my life. I have vivid memories of playing Track & Field, Dirty Harry, and Gauntlet on my neighbor’s NES when I was maybe six years old. I also remember whining and welling up with tears whenever my parents tore me from her house. It just wasn’t fair that she had the cool future games and all I had back home were mountains of LEGO.
The End of Winter
I don’t remember when I first decided to be fascinated by writing. I’ve written since I was taught to write, of course, but I can’t recall the moment when I was suddenly aware that writing — deliberately stringing together words to have some meaning — was more than a common verb.
Building the Serial podcast guide in five days: an exercise in product and editorial cross-collaboration magic
We have a lot of Serial podcast enthusiasts across the company. We dutifully listened each week, shared theories, and debated journalistic ethics. For a few of us though, this wasn't enough. So we built a guide to the podcast to help other listeners keep track of every single person involved in the case. Now that Season One is over, we want to share the story of how this tool came to be because it's pretty illustrative of how so many other things can quickly go from ideas to reality at Vox Media.
Vox shirts are now available
By signing up, you agree to our terms. Ask and you shall receive. They're not quite in time for the holidays, but they're pretty close. After Ezra Klein took the Ice Bucket challenge in a Vox shirt, a number of you wanted one too (preferably a dry one). We're happy to finally offer two shirts and a sweatshirt — in both men's and women's fit — featuring the Vox logo and a snazzy highlighter yellow strikethrough. They won't ship until January, but we think you'll like them as much as we do.
The mystery on new podcast Serial would be much less mysterious with smartphones
The first few episodes of Serial, a new spinoff podcast from the creators of the beloved radio broadcast This American Life, hooks fans with the same aesthetic and poise that make its predecessor a cultural mainstay. But while Ira Glass and the team on This American Life tell new stories with different themes each week, Serial is dedicated to unravelling a single, overarching plot over the course of many episodes.
Our future government will work more like Amazon
There is a lot of government in the United States. Several hundred federal agencies, 535 voting members in two houses of Congress, more than 90,000 state and local governments, and over 20 million Americans involved in public service. We say we have a government for and by the people. But the way American government conducts its day-to-day business does not feel like anything we, the people weaned on the internet, would design in 2014.
The movie Independence Day teaches us that victory is more important than principles
The hostile alien intruders in the film Independence Day caught the world by surprise, arriving like a well-coordinated swarm of locusts to wipe out humanity and take all our natural resources. It was only through grit, ingenuity, and overwhelming patriotism that America could figure out how to defeat the enemy and lead the world in a 4th of July counter offensive to bring the bastards down.
Vax ’14
Here's the thing about a hack week: at its most basic, it's really just a decision to set an artificial deadline on making the things your team has been dreaming of for a while. A really harsh deadline, for sure, and one that isn't backed by any serious driving need. It's not like the end of a political campaign where you sprint as fast as you can to the finish line because there's no second chance. It's not part of a business cycle, holiday season, or year-end close out process.
What it’s like to write jokes for President Obama
For President Obama's speechwriters, senior advisors, and other people who work in the West Wing, the White House Correspondents' Dinner is one of the toughest work weekends of the year. Writing for the WHCD means prepping the leader of the free world for the country's biggest stand-up act. It’s not as if the president is only allowed to be funny once a year, of course.
