Patterned exceptions, policing vacuum, and self-policing: multilingual linguistic landscape in a Tibetan-autonomous region of China
This paper adopts a mixed-method approach to explore the linguistic landscape of four cafes in a predominantly Tibetan county, namely Xiahe in western China. Xiahe is renowned for Labrang Monastery, a religious institution that enjoys great reverence among Tibetans. The four cafes stand out because they are allowed to deviate from the norm, while other stores within the same area are subjected to a uniform signage policy.
Frequently amplified SHANK2 promotes esophageal squamous cell carcinoma progression through the DVL/YAP axis
Abstract SHANK2 is crucial for neuronal synapse development and has been implicated in certain tumors; however, its role in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remains underexplored. In this study, the expression and prognostic significance of SHANK2 in ESCC were assessed through bioinformatics analyses and immunohistochemical staining. We examined the relationship between SHANK2 expression and genetic alterations across multiple ESCC datasets.
Inferring tumor dependency maps from histopathology through imputed transcriptomics
Abstract Gene dependency maps from cancer cell lines define context-specific essential genes, but comparable dependencies in tumors remain largely inaccessible. This gap limits the identification of actionable therapeutic vulnerabilities. Here we present a two-stage deep learning framework that transfers cell-line dependency knowledge to tumors by imputing transcriptomic states from routine whole slide images (WSIs).

Core transcriptional regulatory circuitry identified from patient-derived tumor cells provides a specific vulnerability for rhabdomyosarcoma
Abstract Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common soft tissue sarcoma in children and adolescents, with limited targeted treatment options. Core transcriptional regulatory circuitry (CRC) proteins play crucial roles in tumor cell identity and survival. Here, we established 15 patient-derived tumor cells (PDCs) from RMS specimens and found that these cells retained the expression of RMS hallmark and dependency genes, as well as the genetic mutations in primary tumors.

Tree shrew immune cell atlas identifies NR1H3⁺ tissue macrophages with conserved anti-inflammatory function
Abstract Rodents are widely used in immunology but do not always recapitulate human immune functions. The tree shrew (Tupaia belangeri) is phylogenetically closer to primates than rodents and may help bridge this gap, yet its immune system has not been comprehensively characterised at single-cell resolution. Here, we present a single-cell transcriptomic atlas of the tree shrew immune system, profiling 39 cell types across 12 tissues.

Choline attenuates bilirubin induced effects on tyrosine phosphorylation and distribution in lipid rafts of L1 cell adhesion molecule in vivo - Pediatric Research
Abstract Hyperbilirubinemia in preterm infants causes cerebellar dysfunction. L1 cell adhesion molecule (L1CAM) is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is critical for brain development. Its function is dependent on lipid rafts (LR). Bilirubin localizes to LR and disrupts L1CAM function and signaling in the cerebellum of hyperbilirubinemic Gunn rats. Behavioral deficits caused by hyperbilirubinemia in choline-restricted rat pups are ameliorated by choline.
