Volunteers who helped find the remains of a lost Belgian tourist earlier this year will today begin looking for another missing person in Tasmania's wilderness. Alex Smith, Jon Edmunds, Jarrod Boys, Tony Hage and a long list of others spent many days last summer searching for missing Belgian tourist Celine Cremer near Waratah in the state's north west.

As the sun dips between trunks of stringy eucalypts in Tasmania's north-east, Jon Edmunds and Tony Hage pull on their warmest layers and pore over a map. The pair has spent much of the past few months in the wilderness, after signing up for the volunteer-led search for missing Belgian tourist Celine Cremer. Belgian tourist Celine Cremer went missing in Tasmania's west while bushwalking in 2023.
