United Way volunteers helped pack 10,000 school supply kits that will be distributed to students at schools in school districts including Butler Area, Knoch and Freeport Area at the start of the school year. The annual Tools for Schools initiative is designed to equip early learners with the supplies they need to succeed and the kits include basics, such as pencils, markers, crayons, erasers, folders and a pencil case, according to a news release from the United Way.
