NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio (WOIO) - An employee of the city of North Royalton died after a shooting at the city's service center Friday afternoon, and the suspect has been detained, Mayor Paul Marnecheck II said. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 52-year-old David A Smerek of Brunswick; he was the city's building commissioner.

HIGHLAND HILLS, Ohio (WOIO) - The funeral services for a North Randall firefighter killed while helping a stranded motorist, begin Friday with a viewing from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Mount Zion Fellowship. Firefighter Cameron Duvall, 29, was killed July 18. Pepper Pike police said just before 3 a.m. a driver pulled pulled over with a flat tire on Fairmount Boulevard near Brainard Road and called for help.
