BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Security cameras captured the moment a pickup truck slammed into the dining area of Oneta Station Diner between the breakfast and lunch rushes. "We had already had our breakfast rush," explained waitress Melissa Newkirk. "We were just kind of resetting for what was to come for lunch an hour after church service. I heard a huge crash and then saw a truck coming into the diner." The truck drove directly into the dining area, trapping a waitress named Gina.

Family, community honor the life and legacy of Mary Matilda Factory

MCALESTER, Okla. — A local family and community are mourning the loss of a historic figure this week, as Mary Matilda Factory has passed away at 107 years old. Her name may be familiar for some, as FOX23 highlighted her in our Black History Month coverage this year and covered her 107th birthday. Factory is known for her work with the Apollo 11 Moon mission. Every community has someone whose impact reaches far beyond city limits and for the City of McAlester, that person was Mary Matilda Factory.
