Paul Atherton’s Biography
Paul Atherton is a noted Filmmaker, who is also an artist, playwright, author, broadcaster, journalist & Social Campaigner.
He specialises in all social issues from domestic violence, race, disability, welfare and homelessness to ecomonic theory, money and equality having both structural and firsthand experiences of all.
He's written for The Guardian, The Londonist, The Evening Standard & The Bureau of Investigative Journalism. He contributes regularly to Matthew D'Ancona's weekly Creative Sensemaker for Tortoise Media, reviewing theatre, art, cinema and all that's cultural in Central London.
He was selected as one of the Emerging Writers for The London Library 2021/22 where he is currently writing his memoir and is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts.
His work can be found in the permanent collections of the British Film Institute's (BFI) Archive, The Museum of London, The Museum of Homelessness, The Cartoon Museum and The Museum of The Home and have been seen at Camden People's Theare, Leicester Sqaure Odeon, Piccadilly Circus Lights and Gallery@Oxo on the Southbank.
He's appeared on the Radio shows of Kait Borsay (Times Radio), Jeremy Kyle (Talk Radio) and Television appearances include BBC Modern Times on Prostitutuion, Channel 4's Great British Black Invasion & 4Thoughts on Mixed Race Adoption and BBC Arts with the Museum of Homelessness.
