The effects of informational nudges on herpes zoster vaccination intentions in China: a survey experiment
Abstract Despite the availability of effective vaccines, vaccination uptake remains suboptimal, particularly for “low-awareness” vaccines. Whether informational nudges can increase vaccination intention in such contexts, and among whom they are most effective, remains unclear. Using herpes zoster vaccination (HZV) as a case study, we conducted a pre-registered randomized survey experiment among 4730 unvaccinated adults aged ≥40 years in China.

Single-phase gradient-solvation-electrolyte-stabilized Li metal batteries
Abstract Ether-based electrolytes have shown great success for lithium metal electrodes1,2,3,4,5. However, during the charging process of high-voltage full cells, the desolvation of solvents and anions to accommodate Li ions released from the positive electrode exacerbates oxidative decomposition of the electrolyte6. In addition, the continuous consumption of components over extended cycling substantially alters the solvation structure, resulting in deteriorating redox stability.

De-repression of protein phosphatase 5 by the chaperone organizer HOP1 activates plant NLR immunity
Abstract Protein phosphatase 5 (PP5) is a conserved serine/threonine phosphatase regulating growth, stress responses, programmed cell death and immunity across eukaryotes. However, the mechanisms underlying its activation remain poorly understood. Here we demonstrate that the disruption of the plant MEKK1–MKK1/2–MPK4 cascade activates LET7, a plant homologue of PP5, triggering nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat (NLR) SUMM2-mediated autoimmunity in Arabidopsis.

Protection of telomeres 1b safeguards the Arabidopsis genome by regulating ROS homeostasis
|
Abstract Telomeres safeguard the genome, acting as sentinels of oxidative stress and preventing chromosome ends from eliciting a DNA damage response. PROTECTION OF TELOMERES 1 (POT1) is a highly conserved telomere protein, essential for chromosome integrity and telomeric DNA replication. Arabidopsis thaliana encodes two divergent POT1 paralogs: AtPOT1a stimulates telomerase activity, but AtPOT1b function is unknown. Here we show that AtPOT1b modulates reactive oxygen species (ROS) homeostasis.

PTG‐Dependent Glycogen Metabolic Dysfunction Drives Impaired Adipose Browning: A Novel Mechanism Linking PM2.5 to Metabolic Disorders
1 Introduction Fine particulate matter (PM2.5), defined as particles with aerodynamic diameters ≤ 2.5 µm, represents a critical environmental pollutant containing toxic components derived from vehicular emissions and industrial processes [1-4]. Extensive evidence has established that PM2.5 exposure increased susceptibility to metabolic syndrome, a disorder characterized by central obesity [5-7], glucose metabolism disruption [8-10], and dyslipidemia [11, 12].
New alleles of Arabidopsis BIK1 reinforce its predominant role in pattern-triggered immunity and caution interpretations of other reported functions - Nature Plants
Abstract The receptor-like cytoplasmic kinase BIK1 and its close homologue PBL1 have been widely recognized as central components of plant immunity. However, most genetic studies of BIK1 and PBL1 functions were carried out with single transfer DNA (T-DNA) insertional mutant alleles. Some phenotypes observed in these mutants, for example autoimmunity, have been difficult to reconcile with the proposed role of BIK1 and PBL1 in pattern-triggered immunity.
