Preston Ehrler’s Biography

I am a journalist and photographer based in Milford, Pennsylvania–which is located in the northeastern corner of the state, 90 minutes from New York City.

After living in Manhattan and working in finance for almost 20 years, I became a journalist, writing an opinion column and articles for a local Pennsylvania paper. The job morphed into a passion, and I created MilfordNow, a thriving online hyper-local news site, that garnered state-wide attention, and was sold to Straus News on August 1, 2016…

What was your first job as a journalist?

Interestingly, I was hired to write an opinion column for a small paper, and everything grew from there.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Actually, I have. Many times. But I was lucky, my father bought my sister and me Macs when they came out in the mid 1980s.

How is social media changing news?

Incredibly. The dissemination is now instant. Everyone is now a news creator.
