Saratoga County DA seeks modernization as 3 victim specialists serve entire county

SARATOGA, NY (WRGB) -- For years, three victim specialists in the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office have served as the support system for people navigating the court system, often while juggling hundreds of open cases each at a time. District Attorney Brett Eby said the county’s victim services unit is in need of major upgrades, both in staffing and technology. “Currently we have 3 crime victim specialists for the entire county; they have 3 desktop computers and a telephone,” Eby said.

LGBTQ+ community gathers for 2026 Capital Pride as record crowd tops 30,000

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) -- Love and visibility filled Washington Park as thousands gathered for 2026 Capital Pride, one of the largest Pride celebrations on the East Coast. A record attendance of more than 30,000 people turned out for the event, bringing the LGBTQ+ community and allies together in Albany. Albina Cook described the mood as welcoming and supportive.

Albany County officials highlight safeguards against voter fraud as early voting begins

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) -- Early voting opened today for the New York state primaries, giving Albany County voters more time and more options to cast ballots as key races heat up across the Capital Region. Albany County has almost 220,000 active voters, and just under 90,000 of them use early voting, absentee or mail-in ballots.
