Quantum networks are advancing towards larger and more operational infrastructures, yet their evaluation remains fragmented across heterogeneous physical platforms, simulators, protocols, and architectural abstractions. Current digital-twin studies for quantum networks mainly realise isolated capabilities or application-specific solutions rather than reusable system-level twins.
AI in predicting the macrotrabecular-massive subtype of HCC and informing treatment selection: a multi-center and prospective validation study
|
Abstract The macrotrabecular-massive (MTM) subtype of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is associated with aggressive biology and poor prognosis. We aimed to develop a CT-based artificial intelligence model (DeepCT-MTM) for the noninvasive prediction of MTM-HCC and investigate its prognostic utilities as well as biological underpinnings. A total of 3118 patients with HCC were included from 20 tertiary-care hospitals.

Zanubrutinib combined with R-CHOP in previously untreated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with specific gene alteration: a phase II study
Abstract Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) remains clinically heterogeneous, and outcomes with R-CHOP are suboptimal in patients carrying high-risk genomic alterations such as MYD88, CD79B, NOTCH1, TP53 mutations or MYC rearrangements. Many of these lesions are associated with aberrant BCR signaling, and prior studies in relapsed disease have suggested a degree of sensitivity to BTK inhibitors.
Urachal inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor: a case report
Abstract Background: Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is an uncommon mesenchymal neoplasm. Urachal involvement is exceedingly rare, and evidence regarding its clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management remains limited. Case presentation: We report the case of a 62-year-old female patient who presented with urinary frequency and dysuria for 8 days.

Comparative clinical and prognostic significance of integrin αvβ3, αvβ5, and αvβ6 in osteosarcoma
Abstract Background: Integrins are involved in extracellular matrix interactions and tumor progression, but the comparative clinical relevance of αvβ3, αvβ5, and αvβ6 in osteosarcoma remains unclear. Methods: This retrospective cohort included 193 patients with histologically confirmed osteosarcoma and available formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tumor specimens, evaluable immunohistochemical staining, and follow-up data.
Editorial: Design and synthesis of natural antibacterial derivatives
Antibiotic resistance is rising at an alarming rate, yet new antimicrobial agents remain scarce. Natural products offer exceptional structural diversity and inherent bioactivity, but their clinical translation is hindered by poor stability, bioavailability, and efficacy. Increasingly, researchers are addressing these limitations by using natural compounds as antibacterial leads, synergistic components, and modifiable scaffolds for structural optimization and advanced delivery.

The (Un)desirable shield: consequences of perceived effects of warning labels on AI-generated political disinformation
ABSTRACT As AI-generated political disinformation proliferates, warning labels have emerged as a defining regulatory intervention. Drawing on Third-Person Effect (TPE) theory, this study investigates how exposure to warning labels on AI-generated disinformation shapes perceptual effects and behavioral consequences during the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election.

Borrmann type IV gastric cancer exhibits distinct clinicopathological features and extremely poor prognosis
Abstract Background: Borrmann type IV gastric cancer (Bor-IV) is clinically recognized as an aggressive phenotype; however, its prognostic burden relative to contemporary TNM staging and its radiological correlates remain incompletely characterized. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 1236 patients with advanced gastric adenocarcinoma who underwent radical gastrectomy, including 124 Bor-IV and 1112 Non Bor-IV cases.

Multiple outlier detection in samples with exponential & Pareto tails
Abstract We introduce two ratio-based robust test statistics, max-robust-sum (MRS) and sum-robust-sum (SRS), which compare the largest suspected outlier(s) to a trimmed partial sum of the sample. They are designed to enhance the robustness of outlier detection in samples with exponential or Pareto tails.

Enalapril mitigates senescence and aging-related phenotypes by targeting antioxidative genes via phosphorylated Smad1/5/9
Abstract Aging increases the risk of a myriad of chronic diseases, which are expensive and difficult to treat owing to their various risk factors. Repurposing existing medications has accelerated the development of therapies aimed at slowing aging. In this study, we revealed that enalapril, a drug widely prescribed for hypertension, can improve both cellular senescence and individual health.

Promoting EFL learners’ reading comprehension and critical thinking through online reading circles activities
Abstract This study employed an experimental design to investigate the role of online reading circles (RC) in the reading comprehension and critical thinking of Chinese EFL learners. A total of 116 year-one students from three classes at a provincial university in East China participated in the study. The participants were randomly divided into an online RC group (n = 39), an offline RC group (n = 39), and a traditional teacher-led reading instruction group (n = 38).
