Given the inept way the Ellisons (David’s management, father Larry’s money) have run CBS News since they acquired it 11 months ago, that’s probably bad news for both organizations, a subject on which many words have been written.

On March 12, less than two weeks into the war on Iran, the Wall Street Journal headlined a Goldman Sachs prediction that oil prices could reach $150 per barrel if the Strait of Hormuz remained closed on April 1. This followed an AP story to the same effect the previous day, citing an analyst report from Wood MacKenzie.
