SHP2 accelerated acute liver injury via modulating TGFβ1/EZH2/BRD4 signaling induced proliferation and fibrosis of HSC
Abstract To explore the specific molecular mechanisms by which SHP2 promotes liver injury. Single-cell transcriptomics and bioinformatics analyses were employed for predictive screening. C57BL/6J mice were assigned to normal, model, and model+PHPS1 groups. Liver injury and fibrosis were evaluated by Masson’s trichrome staining, H&E staining, serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels, and immunofluorescence.
Association of hepatic steatosis with MRI-defined renal steatosis in type 2 diabetes: a cross-sectional imaging and clinical modeling study
Abstract Background: Fatty Kidney Disease (FKD) is increasingly recognized as a distinct clinical entity, often coexisting with metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the strength of their association and the metabolic factors underlying this association remain incompletely characterized.
An analytical model of geosynthetic-reinforcement pile-supported embankments simultaneously considering pile–soil differential settlement and geosynthetic-soil interface friction
Geosynthetic-reinforcement pile-supported embankments have been widely used in soft ground improvement, yet the interactions among their components and the corresponding load transfer mechanisms remain intrinsically complicated. This study proposes an analytical model based on limit equilibrium theory, considering pile head settlement, pile–soil differential settlement, soil arching, and geosynthetic-soil interface friction.

Fragment-Based Development of NSP14 Exonuclease Inhibitors Confounded by Batch-to-Batch Variability
Despite the remarkable success of vaccines against SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19 remains an endemic threat that kills hundreds of people daily in the United States. (1) Viral RNA has been detected in >50% of long COVID patients, and early evidence suggests that antiviral treatments can alleviate these symptoms, (2−4) emphasizing the important ongoing role for antivirals in the fight against pandemic betacoronaviruses.

Targeting Senescence with Apigenin Improves Chemotherapeutic Efficacy and Ameliorates Age‐Related Conditions in Mice
1 Introduction Recent demographic data demonstrate a growing older population with chronic age-related diseases in the elderly, representing an enormous social and economic burden and an unprecedented challenge to medical healthcare.[1] Cellular senescence is one of the central hallmarks of aging and is an emerging therapeutic target for intervening in the aging processes per se and against multiple diseases and disorders.[2, 3] Although senescence appears to be beneficial in a few...

1 Introduction Membrane separation technology has emerged as an environmentally friendly, performance-effective, energy-efficient, and easy-to-operate method, finding widespread use in water treatment applications such as sewage purification and seawater desalination.[1] Rational design of advanced materials, such as thin-film composite membranes, has facilitated their extensive use in the industry for aqueous separation.[2] Despite these advances, the application of membrane technology for...
Repurposing the plant-derived compound apigenin for senomorphic effect in antiaging pipelines
Abstract Cellular senescence is a cell fate triggered by inherent or environmental stress and characterized by stable cell cycle arrest accompanied by a hypersecretory feature, termed as the senescence-associated secretory phenotype (SASP). Senescent cell burden increases with natural aging, functionally contributing to age-related organ dysfunction and multiple disorders.
Trends and projection of burden on lung cancer and risk factors in China from 1990 to 2060
BACKGROUND Lung cancer (LC), as one of the most important malignant tumors affecting people's health, ranks second in incidence and first in death rate in the world.1 While the incidence and death rate rates of LC have been declining in most Western countries, they are on the rise in China.2 From the 2019 China Tumor Registry Annual Report in the 2022 China Health and Health Statistical Yearbook published by the China Health and Health Commission3 (due to the general lag of data from the...

Coordination-driven Assembly of Dysprosium Layers into Framework Featuring Enhanced Energy Barrier and Quantum Tunneling of Magnetization
Coordination-driven Assembly of Dysprosium Layers into Framework Featuring Enhanced Energy Barrier and Quantum Tunneling of Magnetization An orchestrated reaction of Dy(ClO4)3.6H2O with the organic ligand of Nʹ-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)pyrazine-N-oxide-carbohydrazide (H2L) affords a layered building block, denoted as {[Dy(L)(H2O)(CH3OH)]ClO4·2CH3OH}n (1).
Multi‐Level Switching of Spin‐Torque Ferromagnetic Resonance in 2D Magnetite
1 Introduction Multi-level magnetization switching generally bears the merits of remarkably high storage density, low power consumption, and multi-functionality in spintronic devices, yet magnetization switching of the existing magnetic materials holds mostly a unitary pattern, necessitating structural design and development of novel magnetic materials.[1-4] 2D magnetic materials often possess the superiorities of atomic thickness, strong anisotropy, easy stacking, and high spin polarization,...

Cryo-electron tomography reveals postsynaptic nanoblocks in excitatory synapses
Abstract The nanoscale organization of proteins within synapses is critical for maintaining and regulating synaptic transmission and plasticity. Here, we use cryogenic electron tomography to directly visualize the three-dimensional architecture and supramolecular organization of pre-cleft-postsynaptic components in their near-native cellular context in both synaptosomes from rat hippocampi and synapses from rat primary cultured neurons.
