SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. -- A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck Silver Springs, Nevada, on Monday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake was reported at 6:29 p.m. in the Carson City area and had a depth of about 6 miles, according to the agency. It was downgraded to 5.5., then USGS reclassified the quake as 5.7 just before 9:30 p.m. There are reports of the earthquake felt in Lake Tahoe and even the San Francisco Bay Area. There have been more than two dozen aftershocks, per USGS.
