(WTVY) -Gabriel Hull of South Daytona, Florida, shot 11-under-par to win the 77th Annual Press Thorton Future Masters championship on Saturday, slipping on the blue jacket at Dothan Country Club in one of junior golf’s most prestigious tournament. Hull finished with a three-round total of 199 — just one stroke off the course record — after rounds of 65, 63, and 71. The final round was a grind.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Before the first tee shot of the day — before most people are even awake — the Future Masters is already running. Grounds crews are on the course by 4:30 in the morning, cutting fairways and setting pins. By the time the first players step to the tee, close to 200 volunteers are already in position — marshaling fairways, tracking scores, managing pace of play, and making sure kids from 39 states and 10 countries feel right at home in Dothan, Alabama. Nobody is getting paid.

(WTVY) - Seven boys from across the Wiregrass didn’t have to travel far to compete in one of the biggest junior golf tournaments in the world — the Future Masters brought the competition right to their backyard. Douglas Lee of Dothan, Parker Trawick of Enterprise, and Jay Wilson of Elba all earned spots in the original field.
