There were a lot of hockey fans who needed some time to let Gritty grow on them after the Philadelphia Flyers revealed their mascot to the world, but there were a lot of fans who instantly fell in love with the playful mascot. Former Flyers forward Scott Hartnell was one of the people who hit it off with Gritty right off the bat to the point where people started a conspiracy theory that Hartnell was actually the person behind the mascot.
