In fact, my dad even used to ask us at supper time, “What did you do today to deserve this meal?” If we didn’t have a good answer for how we spent our day productively, there was a chance we didn’t eat at all. (That may sound horrific now, but it was pretty common in the ‘70s.) That mindset carried with me throughout my life.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. I started writing on an old manual typewriter at age eight. I graduated to an electric typewriter when I was 10.

How is social media changing news?

Sadly, it's blurred the lines between fact and fiction. Even big name media sources have crossed lines to get more clicks.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Clark Kent. I'm a big sci-fi geek, so how can I not go with a superhero?
