Spatio-DARLIN enables robust and efficient in situ lineage tracing in mice at single-cell resolution
Abstract Spatially resolved lineage tracing is essential for understanding how clonal relationships shape tissue architecture. However, such an approach has not been established in mice across different tissues. Here we present Spatio-DARLIN, a versatile method that integrates the high-diversity DARLIN lineage-tracing mouse with sequencing-based spatial transcriptomics.

Methods: A total of 143 dementia inpatients from a tertiary hospital were enrolled.
Rethinking Benchmark Comparability: A Survey of Reasoning Benchmarks for Large Language Models
You are already at the latest version As reasoning becomes a defining capability of large language models, reasoning benchmarks have moved to the center of evaluation. However, despite the rapid growth in the number of benchmarks and reported scores, benchmark results are often not directly comparable. This is because benchmarks may differ not only in the reasoning capabilities they target, but also in the conditions under which models are evaluated and the criteria used to assess success.

cellSTAAR: incorporating single-cell-sequencing-based functional data to boost power in rare variant association testing of noncoding regions - Nature Methods
|
Abstract Understanding how rare genetic variants influence complex traits remains a major challenge, particularly when these variants lie in noncoding regions of the genome. The effects of variants within candidate cis-regulatory elements (cCREs) often depend on the cell type, making interpretation difficult.

Polygenic risk score for type 2 diabetes shows context-dependent effects across populations - Nature Communications
|
Abstract Polygenic risk scores hold prognostic value for identifying individuals at higher risk of type 2 diabetes. However, further characterization is needed to understand the generalizability of type 2 diabetes polygenic risk scores in diverse populations across various contexts.

1. Introduction As global infrastructure development advances, there is an increasing emphasis on utilizing local resources in road construction to reduce costs and promote sustainability [1]. However, due to variations in geography, climate, and material properties, the selection and application of construction materials can differ significantly across regions. The Sucre Highway Project in Bolivia, a crucial segment of National Highway 6, exemplifies this approach.
The Health-Promoting Effects and the Mechanism of Intermittent Fasting
Abstract Intermittent fasting (IF) is an eating pattern in which individuals go extended periods with little or no energy intake after consuming regular food in intervening periods. IF has several health-promoting effects. It can effectively reduce weight, fasting insulin levels, and blood glucose levels.

Exercise‐induced bronchoconstriction assessed by a ratio of surface diaphragm EMG to tidal volume
1 INTRODUCTION Exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB) refers to a temporary and acute contraction of the bronchioles in patients with or without asthma during or after exercise (Randolph, 2009). EIB is common with a prevalence of 5%–20% in the general population, 30%–70% in elite athletes and up to 35% in children under 16 years old (Boulet & O'Byrne, 2015; Cichalewski et al., 2015; Helenius & Haahtela, 2000; Johansson et al., 2015; Price, Sewry, et al., 2022).

Advances in nutritional supplementation for sarcopenia management
1. Introduction After the age of 50, muscle mass declines at a rate of 1%−2% per year in healthy adults, while muscle strength declines at a rate of 1.5% per year (1, 2). Sarcopenia was defined by the European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People (EWGSOP) in 2010 as “a syndrome characterized by progressive and generalized loss of skeletal muscle mass and strength with a risk of adverse outcomes such as physical disability, poor quality of life, and death” (3).

Evaluating the use of blood pressure polygenic risk scores across race/ethnic background groups - Nature Communications
|
This analysis used multiple datasets. The primary evaluation dataset is the TOPMed-BP, which was used for developing some of the PRSs, assessing PRSs, and study of genetic ancestry-related patterns in PRSs and their associations. All PRSs were standardized according to means and standard deviations (SDs) estimated in the TOPMed-BP dataset. Second, we used the Mass Genetic Brigham (MGB) Biobank to train weights for multi-PRS combinations (weighted sums of PRSs).

Stress measurement system for underwater electro-explosive platforms
I. INTRODUCTION Shock waves (SWs) are a type of mechanical compression waves. Due to the incompressibility of water, SWs generated in water have a higher peak pressure and are more destructive compared to those generated in air medium. In recent years, they have received significant attention in many fields, such as national defense,11. J. Jin, X. Zhu, H. Hou, D. Li, P. Chen, and S. Gao, Explos. A multi-ethnic polygenic risk score is associated with hypertension prevalence and progression throughout adulthood - Nature Communications

Abstract In a multi-stage analysis of 52,436 individuals aged 17-90 across diverse cohorts and biobanks, we train, test, and evaluate a polygenic risk score (PRS) for hypertension risk and progression. The PRS is trained using genome-wide association studies (GWAS) for systolic, diastolic blood pressure, and hypertension, respectively.

Defanging COVID-19 in China
More than two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, most countries in the world have the virus under control for the moment, with deaths declining steeply and intensive care units claiming far fewer COVID patients. China is the exception. As transmission of the omicron variant speeds up in China, with the government imposing ever more aggressive lockdowns to halt its spread, the country is on the brink of a massive societal crisis. Currently, mainland China is reporting fewer than five deaths per day.
Evidenced Cucurbit[n]uril-based Host-Guest Interactions by Single-Molecule Force Spectroscopy
Evidenced Cucurbit[n]uril-based Host-Guest Interactions by Single-Molecule Force Spectroscopy In this work, enhanced guest pairs interactions in the cavity of cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]) are quantitatively determined by Single-molecule force spectroscopy (SMFS). Significantly, light-driven dynamic conformational change of guest pairs leads to a rupture force switching between the connected and broken CB[8]-mediated heteroternary complexation with viologen and bis(azobenzene) derivatives.
ER stress in obesity pathogenesis and management
Highlights Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and obesity constitute a vicious cycle. ER stress contributes to obesity, and obesity aggravates ER stress. Although the unfolded protein response (UPR) is an adaptive response to ER stress, hyperactivation of the UPR can be a maladaptive process in obese conditions. ER stress alleviators as well as lifestyle modifications may combat both ER stress and obesity. Future work will be necessary to develop therapeutic agents to target maladaptive UPR.

Reversible morphology tuning of DNA-perylenebisdiimide assemblies through host-guest interaction
Reversible morphology tuning of DNA-perylenebisdiimide assemblies through host-guest interaction Due to the host-guest interaction between cucurbit[10]uril and Perylenebisdiimide (PDI) deritives, DNA-PDI conjugates can achieve the morphology shifting from spherical micelles to two-dimensional nanosheets. The competitive binding between guest 3,5-dimethyl-1-adamantanamine hydrochloride and PDI unit induces the reversiblility.
