Council asks sheriff to crack down on speeding

The North Oaks City Council says they have received several complaints from residents about excessive speeding and asked the city’s designated Ramsey County Sheriff’s Deputy Craig Lydon to more aggressively confront speeders during the summer. “I want to challenge you to look at what you're doing, how you're doing it, and when you're doing it, and maybe try something different,” council member Sara Shah told Deputy Lydon at the June council meeting.

Fresh concrete slabs and glistening new grills were still in the process of being installed when the North Oaks Home Owners’ Association (NOHOA) sent out an unfortunate notice to the community: that residents should avoid swimming, wading, or coming into contact with the water at Pleasant Lake Beach due to heightened levels of the blue-green algae toxin microcystin. The quality of the swimming water at Pleasant Lake Beach has been of growing concern in recent years.
