Daybird's Sichuan-spiced fried chicken sandwiches have moved from Silver Lake to a new home near Melrose and La Brea. This counter-service chicken shop looks more like a cocktail bar inside, complete with a marble countertop and decorative gold rooster lamps. Expect the same menu of tenders, frisbee-sized chicken cutlets, and spicy fried fish sandwiches, which, for $60 more, you can get topped with caviar tartar sauce. We haven't been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists.

Westwood is full of (Persian) kebab spots, but Pera LA is 100% Turkish. This casual sit-down restaurant has an extensive menu featuring traditional döner wraps, boat-shaped pide, and a large grilled meat section with everything from kofte to lamb chops. They're also offering a full Turkish breakfast spread in the morning that feeds two to three, with a side of Turkish tea. We haven't been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists.

An oyster club sounds like our kind of extracurricular activity. Located in the old Blue Plate Oysterette space, Westside Oyster Club is a beachside raw bar from the same owners. The dining room sports a very Cape Cod white-tiled look, and the menu-like the nautical space-looks classic, too: clam chowder bread bowls, oysters (raw, grilled, or fried), and lobster rolls that come with housemade chips. We haven't been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists.
