Oak Tavern coworkers raise money for employee injured in attack

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Coworkers at Oak Tavern are raising money for a colleague they say was seriously injured in an alleged attack by her son. Employees launched a GoFundMe for Selene Phelps to help cover her medical bills, replace her car and support her while she is unable to work. According to court documents, Camaron Phelps repeatedly punched her on June 21 before taking her car. Coworkers described what they believe happened during the incident.

Exits to Second Street in Downtown permanently closing due to bridge project

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Big changes are coming to Downtown Cincinnati’s roadways due to the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project. Several exits going toward the city’s urban core are closed: Eastbound US-50 exit to Second Street closed permanently overnight Exit 1A from I-75 South to Second Street is closing permanently on Monday. Drivers headed toward Second Street will have to take Exit 1C at Fifth Street, then follow Fifth Street to Race Street to get Downtown.

2 more sentenced for roles in last summer’s Cincinnati brawl

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Two more defendants involved in last July’s brawl in Downtown Cincinnati have been sentenced. Aisha Devaughn and Gregory Wright were in court Wednesday as the judge announced their punishments for their roles in the brawl that made national headlines. Devaughn, of Evanston, pleaded guilty to aggravated riot and aggravated assault.
