The Yankees hope chance meeting, scouting helps land Japanese pitcher Yamamoto
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has met Japanese pitching sensation Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Once, very briefly. The Yankees hope to find out soon if Boone's chance meeting with the 25-year-old right-hander pays off for the team. "I've met him once before in the past actually, and I do plan on meeting him again, yes," Boone said Tuesday at Major League Baseball' s annual winter meetings. When pressed for more details, Boone made it sound very much by chance.
Titans lose Nate Davis to Bears
The first day of the NFL’s so-called “legal tampering” period was quiet for the Tennessee Titans in terms of adding players. However, they did lose guard Nate Davis to the Chicago Bears on Monday. While the Titans added no one to their roster with any pending deals, the Bears were quick to reach out on the first day of free agent negotiations and pluck the right guard away from Tennessee. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported the deal.

Titans working Dillan Radunz at right tackle
After playing things close to the vest regarding Dillon Radunz’s future, it appears that the Titans are going to give the second-year pro the opportunity to win the right tackle position. Radunz, a second-round choice last year from North Dakota State, was mostly a spectator on game days in his rookie season. He was inactive for six games (including the playoffs) and had no snaps taken in six others in 2021.
Why we're probably saying bye to lean manufacturing
Cost-saving measures like lean manufacturing are dead, according to a leading expert. Lean manufacturing, which is also referred to as just-in-time manufacturing or just-in-time production, has long been a popular production method for manufacturers. It not only reduces time in the production cycle but in response times from across the supply chain down to the customer. It is supposed to be an efficient method of production. Products are received only as needed.

Titans relish opportunity to practice against Bucs
The first of two days of joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers saw a lot of good things and a few bad things for the Tennessee Titans. The Titans' offense got in some work against the Bucs' defense and vice versa at the Bucs training facility in Tampa, Florid. “Guys competed. It was a good day overall,” Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill said. “Definitely some things we have to clean up. Got to be better on third down. I don’t think we played well on third down, really, at any point today.

Titans' tight end situation might not be settled until camp
As we sit in the limbo time for the NFL with mini-camps in the rearview mirror and training camp still about a month away, this is the time that manufactured news about the league and its teams becomes king. With the Tennessee Titans, there is certainly excitement building toward what they hope is an even more explosive offense and an improved enough defense to make the team a true title contender. Still, the Titans are not without their question marks entering the 2021 season.

Julio Jones promises he has plenty left for Titans
As he completed his first practice as a Tennessee Titan, Julio Jones has a message for those who are wondering if he still has anything left to offer after 10 years and coming off a hamstring injury. “At the end of the day, I believe in me. I know what I have in the tank, and we’re talking about the age is 32. I’m young. In football, you can say that’s old, but you either do it, or you don’t. This game don’t change for me,” Jones said.

Mike Vrabel talks off-season personnel, coaching moves
A lot of the questions in Mike Vrabel’s first off-season availability in more than two months centered on the changes that were made or not made on the defensive side of the football. Most notably, the Titans remade much of the personnel on defense – releasing veterans Malcolm Butler, Kenny Vaccaro and Adoree’ Jackson from last year’s secondary, while defensive lineman DaQuan Jones and outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney remain unsigned as free agents.

Titans Gamble on Jeffery Simmons in First Round of NFL Draft
The Tennessee Titans took a risk with the 19th pick in the NFL Draft, grabbing Mississippi State defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons with their first-round pick. But Simmons suffered a torn ACL in training for the draft, and also had an off-field incident that occurred before he enrolled in college.
