FORT PIERCE, Fla. — A federal judge rejected a bid by Donald Trump to throw out out his classified documents criminal case Thursday and appeared skeptical during hours of arguments of a separate effort to scuttle the prosecution ahead of trial. FORT PIERCE, Fla. (AP) - A federal judge appeared reluctant Thursday to dismiss the classified documents prosecution of Donald Trump after his lawyers argued for hours that the case trampled on the former president's rights. As Trump looked on in the courtroom, his attorneys pressed U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon to throw out the case, arguing he was legally entitled to keep the sensitive records he is charged with illegally retaining after he left the White House.

Mass Valentine's wedding at Florida museum
PALM BEACH, Fla,. (AP) - Shackeem Frankson is the quintessential burly prison guard, but when he turned Monday to exchange wedding vows with his longtime girlfriend, Sarah Horton, he had to pause to wipe away the tear that trickled down his cheek. But no worries - the other eight couples exchanging their own vows at a mass Valentine's Day wedding outside one of Florida's most historic mansions were probably too busy to notice.
"I don't think I have a choice but to delay," a frustrated Scherer said. She and the attorneys agreed that the delays, while necessary, are frustrating to the victims' families who are organizing their lives around the trial. Cruz, 23, pleaded guilty in October to 17 counts of first-degree murder and 17 counts of attempted murder, but a jury must still decide whether he will be executed or receive a life sentence without parole. The trial is expected to last at least two months.
