Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is rapidly transforming the landscape of pre-employment testing. Past research on unproctored (i.e., remote) internet testing has long highlighted the risks of unauthorized assistance when applicants complete assessments without monitoring (Tippins et al. 2006). Use of basic internet searches, knowledgeable others, and simple aids such as calculators have been a threat to remote testing since its inception.
