A single amino-acid switch reprograms ROP6 signaling to drive functional evolution in plants
Introduction Rho-related GTPases of plants (ROPs) constitute a plant-specific subfamily of small guanine nucleotide-binding proteins conserved across eukaryotes (Liu et al., 2025). ROPs cycle between GTP-bound (active) and GDP-bound (inactive) states, regulated by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) and GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs), respectively.

Association of household solid fuel use and long-term exposure to ambient air pollution with estimated 10-year high cardiovascular disease risk among postmenopausal women
As the population ages and lifestyles change, cardiovascular disease (CVD), included ischemic heart disease (IHD), ischemic stroke (IS) and hemorrhagic stroke (HS), has become the leading cause of death in women, and about 35% of deaths in women were attributed to CVD worldwide (Vogel et al., 2021). Among Chinese women, the prevalence of CVD has increased by about 7.5% since 1990.
DDAH1 Protects against Cardiotoxin-Induced Muscle Injury and Regeneration
1. Introduction Skeletal muscle is the most dynamic and important organ of the body and accounts for ~40% of the body’s total weight [1]. Although exercise is good for human health, several types of muscle injury occur in people when participating in high-demand sports, including laceration, contusion and strain. It has been estimated that muscle injury accounts for 10 to 55% of all acute sports injuries [2].
An Anti-Condensation Radiant Heating Floor System in Buildings under Moistening Weather
Abstract : In most regions of southern China, condensation frequently occurs on building surfaces during the period from March to April. This phenomenon has been affecting people’s safety and structural properties. This article proposes an innovative anti-condensation floor system based on the reverse Carnot cycle.

Shocks, international trade, and diversification: Lessons from the pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic led to a collapse in international trade and broke old patterns. Ongoing supply disruptions and the risk of future adverse shocks point to the need for more resilient value chains. Economists argue international diversification and substitutability, rather than reshoring, will help build resilience.
Shocks, international trade, and diversification
The COVID-19 pandemic led to a collapse in international trade (Baldwin 2020), as safety concerns prevented individuals from going out and consuming imported products and workers from producing for export. In the second quarter of 2020, the volume of global trade in goods fell by 12.2% and trade in services fell even more sharply, by 21.4%, compared with the last quarter of 2019.
